Well When he was a puppy he slept fine in his doggy bed. but now he has grown up (2yrs) he is sleeping in my mums bed? any reasons why?

he now knows that the kitchen is the food preparation area and is not a bedroom- you dont do it so why should he when it is more comfy upstairs in a big bed with a warm person?

well your mom was the one to take care of it all the time. and it just want to be with her. the dog knows who takes care of it and will show more loyalty to that person. and he can see that every one eats in the kitchen and sleeps in a bed. dogs are not dumb. so the dog has copy after the people it has been around. plus your mom lets it sleep there.

He must be wondering why HE has to sleep in the kitchen while everyone else gets to sleep in a comfy bed?

It sounds as if the dog has a better sense of hygiene than the owner. The kitchen is for food preparation, how can it double as a kennel?

He likes the smell of her bed and she lets him sleep in it.

He wants to feel close to your mum which is nice...much better than him sleeping in the kitchen as this is unhygienic really?

my older dog wont even SIT in the kitchen because the floor is too cold on her butt. maybe its the same thing
