I'll suggest delivering the dog in an animal shelter but be sure to inspect the place and the animals in the shelter first, if you think it is not such a good place, find another shelter. Talk to your wife about the pros and cons about the situation and that she should not forget that you need proper space and living too.....<(^_^)>

one should never rescues a pet then dump it off on to some one else. tell your wife instead of reusing dog why not train the ones she has for show or to take the ones she has for long walks and/or a drive in the country. let her know that enough is enough. when you have too many dogs then they do not get full attention or the cost of vet bills and food are high not to mention all the inconvenience's of having to fine sitters for a lot of dogs, take care of what your wallet can afford. put you foot done for the dogs causes.

Maybe she could volunteer at a no kill shelter. Then she can have the contact and the feeling of fulfillment without the full time responsibility of the animals. I stress a no kill shelter because if she is at a shelter that euthanizes, she will be tempted to bring home "short timers" and you will be over run quickly!

Tell her maybe she should consider volunteering some of her time with a local shelter or rescue group. This way she would be helping out, but without the lifetime commitment of having a pet.

Sounds like your wife needs to be needed. People who think they are helping, but really aren't taking the appropriate steps to help spells disaster. I recommend having her help where she can't bring anything home like a homeless shelter, or a teen help hot line. She will get the same fulfillment.

Tell her to vounteer. Many shelters need people to spend time with the animals there to socialize them more (esp. puppies and kittens)
