I have a neighbour who I wouldnt like to approach as last time I did I got a mouth full of abuse, she has a staffie and she is obviously a lazy btch because she just lets it roam round our culdi sac sihtting where ever, (usually on my drive) My friend and I have both complained to our housing association and they keep saying they will send round the dog warden but they never do. Could I contact the dog warden direct because in the minute Im going to pay someone to kidnap the thing.

nicky dont start defending the dog I dont care about it, hes done nothing personally but I am fed up of my children standing in dog mess and dragging it through my house for my youngest to crawl through, if the dog goes that wont happen will it. You dog lovers, your prioritys always lie with the dog.

so contact the dog warden at your local council and explain the problem. Allowing a dog to roam is illegal no matter what the breed is. The dog warden will come, pick the dog up, take it to the pound and the owner will get fined around £65 if she wants to go and get it out again. If she doesn't pay the money they will keep the dog and rehome it or put it to sleep. You say you got a mouthful of abuse off the neighbour yet your own replies to some of the answers are rude and aggressive.
If you cannot be civil when asking for help, I wonder how civil you were to the dog's owner.

laws state, if the animal is on your property then you have the right to call local law enforcment. I am not suggesting you do all the work, buuuut if you really want to get her where it hurts the best bet is to get the dog in your garage or on a leash and hold it at the property till the dog warden comes. When the dog warden comes tell him you THINK its own by that person but you dont know for sure. The dog warden will have to take it back to the facility and try to contact the owner. Most impound facilities will charge a hefty sum to get the dog back out of impound. If the owner is not a caring, or kind one then they wont go get it. It will be turned over to a local shelter and possibly re-adopted out.
The downside to this is...... If you area has a ban on Staffies then they could likely destroy the dog once at a shelter or impound. If you like the dog at all just remember this can happen. There isnt a lot you can do to avoid an unpleasant encounter with the owners. Keep complaining is a good suggestion. To the Housing association, Police, the warden, the city council.
I HIGHLY dont recommend you pay anyone to do anything to it. IF you live in the United State of America, they consider dogs as personal property, if they find out in anyway what you have done. You are liable for stealing and/or selling or destroying or depriving the original owner of thier personal property which can be a felony. It could go much worse for you than the dog. Also considering you had altercations with the owners in the past, it wont take long for them to figure it that you had something to do with it and you could have yet more probems on your hands.
I had nasty, drug neighbors before i worked as a animal control officer. They let there dog constantly poop in our yard. I had some words with them and they left me speechless! So i started picking up every pile of poop in the yard and putting in in a bucket and placing it on there driveway with notes. Some said, to you with love, other said, here i thought you might want this your dog left it while visiting. After the dudes started throwing the buckets in my yard again. I called the police and told them they were littering in my yard and harrassing me. They got fined big time and then the dog never came around again. I dont know what happened to the dog i hope nothing bad but it stopped them.

Your right but do remember its the inconsiderate owner that's causing the problem. Your housing association should have contacted her and you need to demand why nothing has been done. You probably have a leash law that does not allow loose dogs. All you have to do is call your local pound or shelter and someone will come out and pick up any loose dogs. Before you do that please ask if they have anyone that will come out and talk to her before they pick the dog up. I listened to a speaker from one of the national shelters and he said one of the biggest problems was the ignorance of owners. Some don't know basic care or meds, some think they can just let their dog roam, and on and on. All of this costs organization big $s that could be put to much better use. And, as another thought, not that I recommend anything, but in my youth we had great use for dog stuff.

Call the warden, pound or animal shelter.
Even if the dog is not being physically abused, it's a risk to have an animal loose and roaming the cul de sac when there are children (or anyone) in the area.
If this woman is doing this then whoever is responsible for animal control must pick the animal up. Your neighbour can deal with the rest if she is so arrogant and careless, and will probably have to pay a fine to have the animal returned to her.
Good luck.

I am a dog lover(have 3), but the owner should be responsible for the dog. It is not fair to let her dog roam the neighborhood free, not only is she making someone else responsible for her dogs mess, it could get hit by a car or bite someone. That is a completely irresponsible dog owner and the dog should be with a family who will care about the dogs and others safety. Though if her child was throwing dog feces at your child and she did not do anything it sounds as though she is not responsible for anything. I would say she doesn't need pets or children, and I can not imagine how I would react if I saw some kid throwing poo at one of my children. I would take any feces left in my yard and politely go sit it right in front of her door every night, so she would have a nice present every morning when she walked out her door. I would also call animal control myself every time I saw the dog wonder lose. Please do not hurt the dog though it is not the dog, but his owner. I hope you can resolve your problem.

ok so pretty much ive read a few of the comments, and the 2 replies you added. your neighbour shouldnt be letting him roam. staffordshire terriers are lock jaws, if he turns....pray to god for whoever he gets in to contact. contact an animal control team, because that dogs being mistreated.
anyway, getting to what i want to say.
1. i'd like to say that im offended you call this dog a "mutt."
..its called a dog for a reason.
2. its not the dogs fault that the owner is irresponsible with her pet. blame it on her, not the dog. and also, if her children are throwing siht around at your children, its still not the dogs fault! as if he would know better, he would just do his thing and walk off. and if the house association or the dog warden dont want to do anything about it then tough luck. clean the mess, even though its not yours. if you're so concerned when your kids step in it, then dont just leave it in the middle of the driveway to be stepped on.
i noticed what you said.
"you dog lovers, your priority always lies with the dog."
that just annoys the siht out of me that you have the nerve to say it.
you posted this question for christs sake.
i hope you werent expecting us viewers to tell you how to get rid of the dog.
thats just plain stupid. and if you have a problem with us "placing our prioritys with the dog", then deal with it.

Definitely contact the warden yourself, or even the police, but ask them to keep your name out of it otherwise it could stir up real trouble between yourself and your neighbour.
I'm a dog lover and if anything bad happens with a dog i.e attacks a child - I entirely hold the owner responsible.
All dogs need a stable home and strict discipline. Your neighbour is totally irresponsible and doesn't deserve to be a dog owner.
As far as the doggy poops around the neighbourhood ! It's illegal to let your dog sh*t in public places and downright ignorant and selfish for the neighbour to allow it. How would she like it if you went and crapped on her doorstep?
Some people!!!

Act like an adult and contact the Dog Warden yourself instead of expecting someone else to do it for you.
Calling your neighbour a 'lazy b**ch' and even resorting to calling her Staffordshire Bull Terrier a 'mutt' shows that you aren't handling the situation well.
The dog is your neighbour's property and arranging for someone to steal the dog is a criminal offence.
You don't seem to be particularly calm by the way you are reacting to comments here so I think you should stay away from your neighbour.
I know people are defending the dog but you are asking your question on a site where the vast majority are dog lovers so why are you so surprised?
If dogs are not looked after properly they cause problems but can't be held responsible - the owner is responsible.
If you let your children run wild and they caused problems with the neighbours - would it be their fault or yours?

I love dogs myself, but I also understand where you are coming from. Where I live there seem to be more Staffy type dogs than there are people and those that own them dont seem to understand how to keep them on a lead.
I walk a labrador who in general loves everybody and everything but since all this stuff with staffys started he has been attacked no less than 5 times by uncontrolled staffys that run around, the lab now has started to get nasty towards staffs because of this.
Our dog warden himself has admitted he doesnt like taking staffys off the street because of all the abuse that he gets, so they just get left.
Its getting rediculous now. I used to enjoy my job as a dog walker. Not anymore though.

I had a similar problem. We lived in the country and a townie moved in next door and promptly bought a rottie pup. Lovely thing it was (I have two of my own now and 5 other dogs) and I used to make a fuss of him. The chap TOLD me (not asked) not to make a fuss of him because he was a guard dog, so i did as requested.
Consequently, as the dog got bigger, so did the crap, which he used to chuck over into my field where my horses were and where my three year old child used to play.
I asked him politely not to throw crap into my field and i too was greeted with abuse and it continued. So, i picked up the poo every day, put it into a bucket with a little water, waited for him to go on holiday and posted the lot through his letterbox.
Funnily enough, it never happened again.
However, if this woman is as nasty as you say, the ASBO route is a good one to take. It is an offence in england to allow a dog to stray and also it should have a collar with it's address on.
Your options are:
1 Phone the council and insist something is done; if not, put it in writing with a copy to your MP
2 phone the dog warden
3 phone the police.
Good luck
