she's 2 months old and rescued. the family that had her before us fed her table scraps and whatever they had lying around because they couldn't afford kitten food. now she tries to eat off of our plates and digs through our trash cans, even though her bowl is always full. she also jumps onto the kitchen counters and lounges around in her litter box, which makes her smell VERY badly. last but not least, how do i keep her out of my other cat's litter box? she has her own separate box, but she uses both, which pisses off my adult male. and also, she still hasn't been responding to her name, even though we've had her almost a month. help please :[

I'm doing a presentation at my HS on Ancient Egyptian cats, and I think it would be cool to bring in an Abyssinian.

I have found two at my local shelter through petfinder, however, would it come across as rude if I were to ask if I could borrow one for the presentation?

My 15 year old female cat has just gone into heat. She was neutered when she was 6 months or so. There is a male cat hanging around that has caught her attention and I really don't think I can take any more of the yowling! I've never heard anything like it!!
Im so close to letting the silly cow out and let him have his wicked way with her!!
Can anyone tell me - is it safe for her to mate with him i.e could she get pregnant?
Has the neutering job 'reversed' itself with age?
Also, why has this happened at 15 years of age?
Thanks very much.

Claire.

I am still sort of new to the cats thing as I have only had my three babies (Sassy, Lucy and Zoey) for two years. I always had dogs and am finding out they are completely different. My dogs when I scolded them or whacked them on the butt with a paper they would eventually listen to me but these three cats.....no matter how much I yell or sqirt them with water, they will go back to doing what they please. heck, they look at me as if to say "yeah, whatever" Take for instence my shelf. I have a large shelf above one of my living room windows so I put all my knick knacks on it. the cats hardly ever went up there so it was no problem than all of a sudden the oldest Zoey decided to move in on the shelf and all my decor went crashing to the floor. I scolded her but she goes back. So again, I let her win. My things now sit on top of my desk. My friend says why do females always want to put knick knacks up when they have cats anyways? My question is do cats really rule?

Does anybody have actual practical experience using these?
Here is my situation. We have 3 adult indoor cats. We didn't have them de-clawed when we first got them because the breeder we got them from "frowned upon it". I know....that was our mistake....they are our cats, and we should have, but we didn't. Now, we are faced with wanting to buy (nay--needing to buy) new furniture, but I don't want to spend big bucks only to have them destroy it yet again. I found out that it's going to cost us approximately $150-$200 per cat, which totals $450-$600 before we can even think about the cost of furniture. Soft Paws seems like a viable alternative, BUT I need to know from someone who has used them.....Are they easy to put on? Do the cats actually LET you play with their claws that long? How long do they actually last?
I just keep thinking that at $20 per cat for a 4 - 6 month supply it would be more cost effective to just have them de-clawed and be done with it. What would you?

Last night our neighbor's cats were very vocal with one another. I assume they were mating calls. A couple hours later the male showed up on our doorstep crying. His head, ears and face were bleeding from several scratches and it looks like a small part of one ear was bitten off. He has been sleeping here for hours and no one has been home at his place, so we have been watching over him. Any advice?

It was found stuck in the cat on the shore of Lake Worth in north central Texas. We do not even know if it is animal, vegetable, or mineral. The dime is added to the picture to give you a relative size.

Do you know the dangers of Halloween season for these particular animals? Shelters won't even adopt them out right ow because freaks want them for Halloween props and sometimes even to use as ritual sacrifices. All cats should be protected all the time but right now these particular cats are in danger if not watched very closely. I have posted this before but I want to reach as many people as I can about this. ♥

and underneath she has like small red dots on her skin. I was thinking maybe she is allergic to something, but I wouldn't know what. We feed her that Purina One - Hairball formula, if you needed to know that.

I have been dating my boyfriend for 3 years, and living with him for 2. I have had my cat since before I met him, so when we moved in together the cat came too. The problem is, my boyfriend HATES the cat, and the cat is PETRIFIED of him. He's the only person in the world the cat is scared of, and is a very social animal otherwise. When my boyfriend walks into the room the cat bolts out and runs into a closet. He will run into walls sometimes in the process of trying to escape. It upsets me to see him so scared.
My boyfriend claims he has tried to befriend the cat on several occasions, by going into the closet where the cat sleeps and trying to pet him. I explained that he can't do this because the cat feels cornered. It has gotten to the point where he wont acknowledge the cats existance anymore. I just want them to be in the same room together peacefully and i'm sick of the FIGHTING. I've given up on them ever being friends, but i dont know what to do anymore. how can i keep peace!?

The piece was 1 inch long. I haven't found the rest of the rubber band anywhere, so I don't know how much he has swallowed. He pooped all right though, the rubber band was right in the middle of the poop. Do you think there is danger or that he will be fine and poop the rest out like he pooped this one? The problem is I am just fostering the kitten and it will go to a barn tomorrow, so I won't be able to watch it all the time if he poops. I will call the vet in the morning, I was just wondering if you have any idea about it.

I found the kitten in a tree, about a week ago. He is like 7 weeks old. He has warm milk regularly - but I cannot watch over the milk and over them when I am at work. The problem is that my cat's nipples became very red, swollen, and sore. I am panicking. Is there anything that would not harm any of them and that I could use on the cats' nipples to stop the small one's addiction?

Thanks!
