I have a poster of the Beatles and my cat chewed on it and ripped it twice. Is it possible for him to hate the Beatles??

Seeing a poster of the beatles would not make your cat hate them, he might not enjoy their music but he's not going ot make the conection from their music to the poster, some cats like to chew on things, mine chewed all the hands and feet off my barbie dolls when I was younger, they enjoy eating grass and I have one cat that will eat popcorn. Cats have their own little quirks, yours just might like the materiel of the poster or its location, try moving the poster or covering it with double-sided transparent tape to discourage scratching and chewing.

I agree that cats like glossy paper. My cat will shred any thing she can reach on a wall. I used to have a cork board in my study and she shredded the whole thing. Then she shredded my poster of different sorts of crochet stitches. She just liked the sound and feel of ripping paper and cork. I also had a cat who like to chew on photographs because of the chemicals they use in developing them. I personally think when cats get bored, they just pick what ever is convenient to shred. When they get angry and bored they pick whatever has you scent on it to shred.

Yeah, you just have a cat who loves to rip. Our Kangi never
met a bit of newspaper she didn't want to tear to shreds with her teeth.
As for the music...definite tastes they have. Ours love classical, tolerate jazz, will stick around for old rock and roll,
and either run like heck or glare at me for U2.
Everybody's a critic.

Yes, but most cats have a thing for glossy paper. They just like to lick it and tear it up. Maybe your cat prefers more sophisticated decor.

I believe it is. I had a cat that loved Jethro Tull. He'd rub the speakers when I played any of their CDs.
