Hi, I have a cat who's turning 3 years old now and but it never sleeps with me as often as it does with my sister.I'm the one who feeds it everyday and play with him and clean his crap(not too often though..).Is it because he doesn't like my bed?Or maybe because I move around too much when I sleep? What can I do to make him sleep with me at least ONCE?

My 6 year old daughter was playing outside today, and was bitten on the ankle by a stray cat that was hiding under my car. It left 3 scrapes where the teeth broke the skin, but it did not draw blood. I immediately washed the bite, put neosporin on it, but when I went back out to capture the cat, it was gone. Animal control hasn't returned my call. The "nurse" at the pediatrican's office seemed totally unconcerned, but I'm a volunteer at the humane society, so I know all the nasty germs that can be passed on though a cat bite. She just said watch it and if it gets infected, call them. She said "Those rabies shots are so hard on the kids. I don't know if we'd even want to go there." Uh... once symptoms of rabies start, it's too late!

What else can I do? How concerned should I be? I'm at a loss here. I'm trying to stay calm and think like I do at the shelter where I volunteer, but the "mom" in me is starting to panic.

My cat is female, she is 5 years old and has not suffered with this before. Her belly and back legs have almost gone bald, she has been to the vets and they couldn't find anything wrong. I have 4 cats in total, all are spoilt rotten and there are no favouritism issues!!! I have tried a skin irritation cream but that hasn't really worked and I don't know what to try next :(

My 10 year old cat had surgery at the end of August and I have been informed today that the wound doesn't seem to heal properly. The vet wants to go back, cut the wound open and re-stitch it. We're already almost $2k in the hole and I just want this to be over with for my sake and especially for my poor kitties sake. Is the surgeon just trying to make more money or is it really necessary to go through this again?

I'm asking because I have two kittens, about 16 weeks old now, and when I first got them, I noticed one had a VERY long tail. Like, he could tickle the back of his head with it if he tried. I know with dogs that big paws can mean a big dog. Does a long tail mean a large cat? Thanks in advance.

My question is simple: Does the strength of a cat's purr lessen over time? I'm asking, because I got two kittens, about 16 weeks, and an old, 14 year old cat. I noticed my older cat's purr is much softer than the kitten's, who sound like race cars sometimes. So yea, just wanted to know if this is possible/why it happens/if anyone else has noticed this. Thanks in advance.

My kitten is only two weeks old. Just yesterday I noticed that one eyes is open, and the other is closed. They were both open completely three days ago, though. Could it have been scratched in the eye by one of his brothers', or did it just close because he's not used to the light yet?

I don't like cats and could not imagine having to pick one up. My gran is old and lives on her own, and my mum is away till Wednesday and if the cat died I would feel very bad. Or will it be ok for my mum to take him on Wedneday??

My indoor/outdoor cat, Lance, has been acting very odd for the last 4 or 5 months. This summer he has been killing at least one small animal/day--at times 2 or 3. We live in a suburb, and they are usually mice or moles, and sometimes birds and recently chipmunks. He has never killed at this rate before.

His killings have grown increasingly violent: he leaves diembowled mice on the doormat, and today I have home to a mouse nose (yes, nose) on the drive way.

He has lost a lot of weight, too, even though he eats a lot (unlike my other cat of the same age, who is a little fat).

He has just gotten weirder. When he's indoors he is VERY clingy. He will not leave you alone and is always climbing on us. He used to be affectionate, but now he's just weird.

He also has taken to peeing on the washing machine, recently, and he never had a peeing problem before.

We're wondering if he might be ill, perhaps with a parasite he caught outdoors. Would this explain his odd change in behavior?

I have a call in to the vet for more info, but in the meantime, is there a vet tech out there who can recommend any kind of treatment for a feral cat with a rodent ulcer on it's lip? The lip is pulling away from both canine teeth and one side is a little bloody. The cat is drooling because the lips no longer meet. I have been trying to catch her to bring her to the vet, but she is too wild. I caught her once 4 years ago in a TNR trap when I was able to get her neutered, but once they get caught in one of those they never go back. I would like some kind of medicine I can mix in with food for this poor cat. I don't want her to suffer, but she isn't going to let me catch her to get her to the vet.

I wanted a cat ,so I looked in the newspaper and found someone giving a two year old cat away cause thier parent who owned the cat had died, the woman told me that he was very shy he was living with another male whom is his brother and a female cat whom was a couple years older. She told me the two males picked on the female alot , well anyway I bring the cat home and it continues to hide in my room under my reclyning chair and at around four and five in the morning it begins to meow or cry or what ever for about a hour , but it won't come out to eat or drink water , what I want to know is , is this cat going to get over it or just die from fright or loneliness or what? and what can I do?

Love her to death, but she meows and mewls and cries and murmurs all the effing time! It drives me crazy, and I've tried to train her not to, but she doesn't seem to get it. I got her from a shelter and she's super skiddish, so I don't think she understands that I don't want her to stay away from me, I just want her to be quiet? : [

everything is the same. Her food. Obviously her water, and thats all she drinks. This has been going on for about a month or two now. She goes on spurts, sometimes she'll go a whole week with out puking, and if she does its only like a little bit. Other times she'll get sick 3 or 4 times a day. i know i should take her to the vet, but i don't exactly have the money, so if anyone could give me ideas or anything?

they were born about 4-5 weeks ago well they are taking a few shaky steps. well anyways my five year old tripped on a toy car and landed on one of the poor little guys. he does not seem to be moving one of his paws, he won't pull out his nails in that same paw and it feels lighter than the other one. he also meows loudly when i try to move it. He does not cry alot but he is not nursing well either because he can't fight back when one of the other kittens pushes him away from mom. I don't know what to do, money is alittle tight around here and i wasn't intending on keeping the little guys. what should i do, is he too young to separate from mom? but i don't want him to suffer here. Oh and yes we spayed mom that was the first thing we did.

We're moving 1700 miles and have 2 dogs and 5 cats. We will have to stay in hotels for two nights - how do we find hotels that will accept them? Motel 6 advertises that they are pet-friendly, but say they only allow 1 pet per room. We plan on getting two rooms, one for the cats and one for the dogs. Any advice or experience is appreciated.

My room mates brother is visiting and my cat keeps hissing at him everytime he comes in the door. My cat is sort of anti social, he doesnt like to deal with guests but he is never this mean to them. He usually just goes somewhere and goes to sleep. And if he doesnt like you, you usually only have to feed him to get on his good side but my roommates brother has tried that the cat is steal mean to him. Like last night, my cat went into the guest room and took my roommates brothers shorts down stairs under a pillow on the couch. We didnt see him do this but when we were looking for the shorts he sat on top the pillow the whole time like he was guarding it. He keeps stealing his socks. Yesterday, he left his toy mouse, that looks fairly real, in the bed that my roommate's bro is using. His behavior has been completely unacceptable and I dont know what to do. I dont even know why he is doing it.

What could be happening to them? They seem to fit fine (I buy the safe-cat collars) and I don't think they could slip over his head easily. He is outside about half of the day and the rest of the time, he stays inside or lays on the porch (we live in a cul-de-sac with little traffic and a nice woodland behind the house) Do you think my neighbors could have something to do with it?

I remember although i had good cats in the past, they sometimes went up on tables, and in areas i didnt want them to go. I now have an 18 month old, who loves cats and is around kittens and cats at my mother in law's home. She has alot of respect for them. I have two yorkie puppies that have been trained to stay our of her room at night, to avoid loud ruckas and mischeif that might wake her. So door open, they do not enter. I watched my old roommates kitten for the first 6 months of her life, during which time i couldnt train her to stay out. Mid- of night she would claw at the wall, knock things down, chew up bottle nipples and binkys, make alot of noise. I really dont want to shut my baby's door at night..I dont mind if the kitten roams in but how do i train them from the begining "not" to jump into the crib, not to jump on her dresser and shelves and NOT to claw at walls.
