Yes, you can buy special medicine for worms at the pets store. But make sure it for a feline, and not a dog.
Also there are many kinds or worms, round worms, whip worms, heart worms, and even tape worms and a few more.
You are just as well off to take your cat to the vet and have it looked over and discuss OTC treatments for worms and Fleas & Ticks. And Hairballs, this is a common thing look over by most but they do make stuff so that you cat can digest hair correctly without it chocking you cat to death.

Yes. There are dog and cat dewormers available at most major supermarkets. I would advise that you at least consult a vet regarding the type of worms your cat has. In a previous answer, a respondent said that only tapeworms could be seen by the naked eye. That is not true. I know that roundworms can be seen also. I hope this information helps you. Good luck...

I learned about this when my cats had worms. If you can actually see the worm, it's a tapeworm. The other types of worms are not vi sable to the naked eye. I had a hard time finding tape worm meds in the stores, and ended up going to the vet for them anyways. During my travels, I did see all other types of dewormers though, good luck. :)

Well if you use a flea control on your cats...this will prevent them from getting tapeworms which are the most common. Once they get worms..you will have to deworm them. You can get these medications online. (Drontal or Droncite is for tapeworms). Do NOT go with the OTC stuff from walmart and pet stores...this stuff is notorious for not working and many cats get sick from it. It is just a waste of money and you will eventually have to buy the "real" stuff like Drontal that the vet uses.

Absolutely, just go in the pet aisle at walmart and you'll find plenty of dewormers for cats.

yes. but over the counter brands are hard to get your cat to take sometimes. If it seems serious and if you can afford it, take your cat to the vet for treatment.
