Hello Joe Kool,
My cats are always like this and I hate stroking them when they are soggy it feels to me like wet toilet paper!! Usually I give them a treat and place them on my lap and towel dry them whilst fussing them, they get all content and start to purr!
I hope this helps dry off your cat!
Feel free to email me with any other questions!
Regards. =^..^=

My older cat likes sitting out in the rain. When he comes in, usually drenched, I have a towel in the cupboard which I use for him. When he sees the towel, he comes trotting over, and I give him a good rub down to dry him off. He purrs loudly all the time! Think he just gets wet so he can have a rub and a cuddle! If he's really, really wet, I pick him up in the towel and give him a fuss still wrapped up.
Then again, he does exactly the same when he sees the comb - he's been known to get up from the chair and come across the room to me when I've picked the comb up and waved it at him.

Okay you want to get a towel big enough for the cat. Put it around the cat and start like drying the cat. like you dry yourself when you get out of the shower. and if the cat is still wet put a towel down on your lap first.

When my cat gets wet, I put a paper towel in my hand and pet him with it. When the first one gets wet, I throw it away and get a new one. Paper towels are very absorbant, and because they're small and not bulky, the cat barely realizes I'm drying him off.

let is sit next to the heater it will dry off itself with the heat
and or let it dry off by licking itself
or of course the popular one dry with a towel
let it sit on a towel, kitchen towel etc to soak up most of the water if it doesn't like being ruffled with the towel or fussed over

Mine has just done exactly the same thing - i thought cats were supposed to hate water! Luckily he will let my other half dry him with some kitchen towel. It absorbs the water quicker than a towel.
Next thing to worry about is the wet pawprints everywhere....

I used to have a cat who regularly used to come in wet. He didn't particularly like towels, and his favourite method of drying off, was to sit on my lap, and rub himself in my clothes. If I was in bed, he'd make do with the bedclothes.
He was run over two years ago, and how I wish he was here to dry himself now.

Use a big towel and wrap the cat in it to dry it. Think yourself lucky. One of my cats likes to go out in the rain, dive in the catflap when I'm not looking then dry herself by rolling on my nice white bedding!

Two of our cats know to get out of the rain. One does not. He likes being dried with one of those hair towels...
... we still need to be careful, though, as he has a habit of sneaking up on you while wet and unexpectedly jumping up.

take it's picture. :-)
Lay a dry towel on you then let the cat lay on you until it dries or you start to get wet. Don't worry, it's just a little water. It won't hurt you. hehe
