Im a little concerned about my cat, she's 16 years old & apart from being the victim of a v.nasty dog attack 10yrs ago we've had no problem with her health (apart from her being v.paranoid if you touch the area she was bitten).

She seems perfectly ok but Im concerned about her weight (she was the runt of the litter & is very thin), she's very active & occasionally falls if jumping. She also seems to have nibbled some of her fur away near her hip - I was told it was due to fleas but we've blitzed her & cant find any trace of fleas...only rather sensitive looking skin.

When you stroke her if you touch her below her ribs she hisses & scratches - I know her old attack scars are there but am concerned about her hips.

My Mum thinks she could've just developed sensitive skin & maybe a bit of cat arthritis in her hips.

Can anyone enlighten me as to what the problem's likely to & what the average lifespan for a domestic cat is?

I really wish I knew the fascination with it. All 5 of mine follow me in there and do everything from stare at me to jumping in my lap! Isn't it annoyingly adorable?

I ran it over with my car, needless to say it was a mistake.
Ive burried the body but im now shitting it. I think she knows i know something about it, shes talking about the law and everything. The cat was quite old, so its not like he was cut down in its prime. Ive had trouble with her before, shes getting on in years and is always looking for a fight with me,( i think its because i killed her last cat as well)

Should i own up, try to replace the cat with a new one(i got the idea from scooby do) or simply deny everything and hope my web of lies remains intact.

Maybe i should run her over.I could make it look like suicide.....

My daughters 12 year old cat just was diagnosed and its heartbreaking. We had to take him home from the vet because of the long weekend and the hospital that we could have taken him to is too expensive. I am afraid that we will lose him. She leaves for college tomorrow and this is just overwhelming. Any advice on what to do?

We think she might be, her stomache is getting slightly bigger and her teets are getting more pronounced, but we just dont want to jump to conclusions.

He runs around all day, attacking and biting his sisters, and knocking things over (like table lamps, picture frames, vases,
glassware, etc), and I can't get him to stop. He also likes to jump on top of everything. What should I do? I love the little guy, but he's becoming a nuisance. He also cries a lot.

I just took my almost 12 week old Cornish Rex for his 1st checkup. He had diarrhea coming home from the breeder and again yesterday. When the vet testing his stool she found those proto's swimming around and gave him an oral .5ML of the antibiotic Metronidazole chicken flavor.
I googled it and to my horror I see it's very dangerous! Help! Now I'm afraid to give it to him! They gave me a syringe and to only measure to the 1/2cc mark and it's to be given twice a day for the next 10 days. Any advice would be greatly appreciated!

I just got a 2 yr old cat. Ive never had a cat before so this is all new to me. She walks around the house meowing ALL the time. Is something wrong with her or do some cats just do that? I take her to her food and water and show her to the litter box but thats not it. Is this normal?

My 5 months old cat got spayed on aug 22. a wed, the following Monday her stitch had open so i brought her back and they closed her up with 6 stitches and sent her home with one of those cones on her head and some anti- biotics. They never told me how long she would have to wear it and there phone is constantly busy. Any ideas on how long she will have to wear this she is on anti-biotics for a week if that helps.

My two year old Himalayan/Ragdoll is always looking for attention. I pet her and do everything that makes her confortable. If I don't, she will bite and I mean bite and then run away and hide. She has play toys which she uses. I have tried everything but she just will not stop this biting. It may stop for a month and then will start again. Any suggestions would be appreciated.

Does anyone know about cat seizures? What can you expect from a vet? Are there any drugs that a vet could give that are harmful to a cat? Anything else I should know?

for a few days now my usually very active and crazy cat has been acting very strangely and i am very worried.
On tuesday he was acting like he does when i take him to the vet, all flat ears, breathing fast, cowering and when i picked him up he hid his face and just sat there (usually he never lets me pick him up and struggles instantly). Since then he has been hiding under a side board in the bedroom (somewhere he never sits) and comes out only to eat, use his box and occationally have a nose around, until he looks up quickly, seems to get spooked by something and runs back under the sideboard.
Im really worried, he seems to be eating normally and not be physically ill just mentally worried and scared.
Nothing has changed in my flat, nothing major has happened to him.
Anything people can offer would be great, as the vets really arent being much help at all!!
thanks!
