I have two male cats that are neutered indoor cats but my roomy took them outside for a little over an hour and now they are coughing, vommiting and have lost their voices. No fever or anything but they are very lathargic. Any ideas what is wrong? I should also mention that I just moved in with my roomy about two weeks ago.

Please let me know what country you are referring to. You see, I 'd like to know, because in my country there is no pet insurance, and I have always thought it would be good to have it. Does it cover standard health cost, liek annual shots, or only accidents or illensses? For example for a cat.

I've had this cat for 2 years, her name is 'cha cha'('cause everytime before she'd pounce, her back end would do the 'cha-cha'),also she has been 'fixed',I think she's a very smart and playful cat..Here's my problem, she's never lived outside,(I live in an apartment complex)Should I let her go?Sometimes I think I'm doing her an injustice by keeping her confined in my aptartment,(she seems like she's wanting to go outside).I'd miss her if she did'nt come back though, but I hate holding her back from exploring the world outside like like her feline ancestors do.This may sound stupid but, should I even care about it.I'd just hate it if she would be roughed up by the more 'wilder' cat's out there.Help!

Just to say thanks to all who answered! Thankfully it seems to be a 'false alarm!' Wee cat is on the mend! It seems old age is finally catching up with 'Lula!' We panicked a bit but thanks again!

We enjoy having our 3 month old kitten sleep with us at night, but have a health-related question. Our kitten tends to sleep on our pillow, our back, at our head, etc. There's no discouraging her from this (or walking all over our pillows). She simply loves the company. Are we putting ourselves at any health risk?

Some jerks in my street moved out and left their cat behind. I noticed when she started begging for food and was sleeping on furniture dumped on the street (probably her ex-owner's). So I started feeding her and put friendly "is this your cat?" notices in the neighbours' letterboxes. Got no reply after a few days, then saw she was badly scratched from fights and took her. When I felt her body I realised how anorexic she was under all her fluffy fur. Looks like she would've been a huge glorious fluff-ball once, but has become mangy, matted & skinny from neglect.

Took her to the shelter for a check up and they said they can't take her for another week. So I'm keeping her temporarily at my mother's, treating her wounds and trying to get her healthy and nice looking. She's loving the attention and is a real cuddly sweetie. We can't keep her though.

In the week that I have her I want to make her look super healthy so she'll have a better chance of rehoming. What should I feed her? :)

I ran out of litter the the day before yesterday, and I couldn't get hold of the same type again, so I used a different litter. Since then, she hasn't even used it, but I'm almost certain she hasn't gone to the toilet anywhere else. I'm really worried now, what can I do?

My cat has a urinary track infection. It is a 'relapse' from last time- it seems he has been cursed with them.
He is going to the vets later on today but not for several hours we can't take him.
He started showing small symptoms of feeling 'uncomfortable' yesterday and this morning we found pee all over the house in small little drops, pretty much scattered around the whole house.
I've been with cats my whole life, we know the procedure that the vet will carry out.
However- My question is: Is there anything I can do, home remedies etc that can make him feel better besides little pats on the head? Or is it best to just let us wait it out until he can go to the vet later today?

My partner and I have a 5 month old male kitten and have just found out that his mother has had another litter. We have been offered one of her new kittens and are undecided as to whether this would be a good idea. Our kitten would be 7 months old and neutered by the time we got the new one.

I would like to have another kitten/cat at some stage but was not expecting to be faced with the decision yet! I am wondering whether it would be best to introduce a new kitten whilst the one I already have is still young and whether they are more likely to get on than if we wait until he is older?

We also have an adult cat who we adopted when she was approximately 18 months old. She absolutely hated the kitten and has not yet come to terms with him. Do you think having another kitten would double this problem for her or do you think if we have one kitten she hates it would not make a difference to have two?

Any advice? I would hate to upset my cat further or upset my kitten as well!

My cat is a large 8yrs old house cat. She always gets wind that you want to put her in the box when it's time for a Vet visit & runs under the furniture & will freak out when you try to pick her up. Any suggestions. I have an appt for her at 4pm today. Thanks, Roseann

I have a kitten, and she is about 2 months old, and i noticed when she is lying down to sleep she will sometimes start to suck on her paws, and even sometimes on my fingers. Why does she do this? Is it normal. I have had kittens before but i dont remember them doing this. Thanks!
