Kittens are naturally curious and they will taste everything. When they are little get a plain clay litter and even if they eat it it won't hurt them.

No, it's not okay if she keeps eating it especially if it's clumping litter. It can cause a blockage that can only be removed by surgery. First thing, make sure you are feeding her a high-quality KITTEN food (not cat food- there's a big difference). I think most vets have their personal preference, but most would agree that Eukanuba is widely available and a very good option.
Kittens experience the world the same way human babies do- they put EVERYTHING in their mouth. So if she's just curious, it's okay but keep an eye on her.

Cats eat litter a lot. It's usually harmless, but I would check the bag and buy some that is for sure.
To discourage her, leave her food out right next to the litter box.
Good luck!

Kittens would be kittens and are very curious, they're purely like human toddlers and could consume something. the pros propose no longer utilizing the clumping form of muddle till your kitty learns to no longer positioned muddle in his mouth. you be attentive to what the clumping muddle does while it gets all moist..yukky!~ purely take and wipe out the kittens mouth and attempt to concentration their interest on toys or nutrients of activity. That kitty muddle ought to supply the kittens intestinal dissatisfied and/or constipation. that's an element to the kitten point. If an person cat eats muddle, then and easily then, it might have a nutrients situation or reason for anemia. i might propose switching to a distinctive form of muddle, gazing intently and spot if the habit stops. and likewise there's a form of muddle referred to as feline pine, purely a tenet, uncertain if pine could be greater advantageous for kittens~yet while they have centred on new and greater exciting toys and leisure, they'll strengthen out of this 'testing' point.

As long as it is clay or pine litter, this shouldn't hurt her. It is a little strange, though.
It's likely that she's not after the litter, but the urine, which means she's trying reclaim some nutrients. Most animals who drink their urine are trying to get back the lost sodium. Make sure that your kitten is being fed a good quality kitten food. If she is still doing it after a food upgrade, talk to your vet about getting a vitamin supplement.

i don't know how to get her to stop but i don't think it is good for her.
Cat litter is clay, so it will probably end up clogging her system. Maybe you should try a different brand of type of litter.

I would try a different liter. Some liters have purfumes and dyes in them and they smell like they should be eaten or rubbed on you instead of used as a potty. A cat has a very sensitive smelling ability. Many times greater than humans. They even have two sets of nostrils, one being under their upper lip inside their mouth. The best type of liter is one that is as close to what they would use outside as can be, which is of course sand or lose dirt. Since sand allows them to dig easier, clumpable litter is best and there are many varieties out there that do not purfume or dye it so it is very safe for the cat. Then, if it does eat the liter, it can't harm it. The purfumed and dyed once can make them sick if they eat too much.
