I've never put any of my cat's in for a bath. You can buy little towlettes that are like hand wipes that you can rub on your kitties fur. They still don't like it but if you insist on cleaning your cat I think that is your best bet. I bought them when I first got my current kitty. I got him from the shelter and he kinda smelled bad so I bought those.

I cant say as we have ever tried giveing out cat a shower before...
We always give it a bath, put about an inch of water in the bath, the get a cup, some shampoo, and hold the cat in the water, while the water is on fill up the cup and dump it on it. Then use shampoo, then rinse, and your done.

Who in the world bathes their cat? Cats spend the 5% of their day they aren't sleeping, cleaning themselves. They are pretty good at it and don't need our help. The exception is if they get into something like grease or paint and need a good scrub.
Put them in a sink with a little bit of lukewarm water. Use a cat shampoo NOT a human one. You need one person to hold the cat firmly, the other to scrub and rinse with a jug of clean warm water. The cat WILL hate this so be as quick and calm as possible. Then wrap the cat in a towel and dry him off quickly. Keep him in a warm room until he is completely dry.
He does not need this done on a regular basis - doing so will stress him out and make him distrust you.

Cats clean themselves. Leave him alone. If he gets some dirt on him that you don't want him to lick off (like sth. toxic), just take a wet cloth or your hands with a little water and wipe him well, don't put him in the bath or shower, he'll freak out.

I've had lots of cats, and have never known any one of them who truly loved a bath (although they'll sometimes tolerate it). You may have to settle for a good brushing and dry shampoo. There are several on the market that work pretty well. If he's really Stinky, try a wet washcloth instead of a soak in the tub

If you absolutely have to give your cat a bath, the best way is to put him or her in a pillowcase with his or her head sticking out. It is much easier that way, even though giving a bath is not an easy thing. I only do it once a year, as they pretty much clean themselves. Good luck.

Unless he got into a big mess, he'll clean himself. Sometimes babies need help washing "back there". There are kitty wipes you can get at WalMart if you just want to freshen him up. Kitty baths are extremely messy and hard to do alone. If he's messy, just do it as calmly as you can and have bandaids available for your battle marks!

ive been giving my cats baths since they were babies.. in all my years of having cats.. thats the only way ive gotten to give one an actual BATH.. now they absolutly love water.. its kinda strange.. but hey.. helps me out
pet stores do sell powder shampoos.. its more of a cleaning deodorizer.. they work pretty well.. they have powder shampoos and "waterless" shampoos.. which are pretty much just a foam you put on the cat.. good luck!!

I don't have a cat, but the only time my dog ever stands still in the bath is when I sing to her. Just my 2 pence.
