my cats were spaded (is that the right word?) last year. Since then they have both got lumpy flabby tissue around their bellies...is this normal?

Yes it is quite normal; during the operation there is collateral tissue damage, this leaves the lumpiness you feel.
But keep an eye on it anyway, if it starts growing or gets harder, or the animal shows pain when you gently squeeze it, then you might consider getting your vet to check that it isn't something more sinister.

Flabby? Yes. Lumpy? No. The skin will hang a bit, moreso when they get older. If you are feeling seperate lumps that are under the skin, you may want the vet to look at them.

I've had many females over the years spayed. None have ended up lumpy. Flabby maybe.

Yes its very normal. It just means theres alot of scar tissue in the uterus and that its unable to stretch back to regular size. Nothing to worry about. My kittys got a flabby belly too.

It is normal. I have had 4 cats spayed and they all got flabby bellys now. Nothing to worry about.
