i've heard vinegar, and that seemed to work fairly well for the blankets in the wash... any other tips??

i'm about to move out & don't want to leave the place reeking! it's just in one area... and hopefully getting my kitty spayed (here in the next couple weeks) will end her bad habit before she starts doing it in the new place...

My cat was diagnosed with a UTI 1 week ago. He is still having accidents and now had diarrhea (assuming it is from the antibiotics). He is on the special food the vet recommends and also getting his litter box changed about every 2 days. The vet said to add some salt to his food to encourage him to drink more.......so I did. Does anyone have any suggestions before I bring him back to the vet and spend another $150?? Thanks

I was born and raised in a very rural area. Most of the fellows hated cats, would do horrible things to them and thought of them as targets. Is this more of a rural thing? more of a male thing? Why the outright hatred of cats?

I have a 11 year old cat she has a tumor on her button lip is kinda big. She already went to her vet a month ago but, she was too skinny and her vet told me to faten her up, she is going to be operated this wed. my question is I gave her anchovys I cooked them really simple with just water and I made sure there where no spine bones and she really liked them but, are anchovys good or bad for my cat and are there any other sugestions as of what else can I feed her.

I was changing the cat litter the yesterday, and was engulfed by a huge dust cloud from the litter. I accidentally breathed a lot of the dirty litter dust in, and today I have a burning in my lungs which feels like an infection that is spreading to my throat. Has anyone else ever accidentally breathed in dirty litter dust and gotten sick?

My two male cats are not desexed.
The black one keeps pining down the ginger one and tries to mate with him (pining him down in one go for about 40 minutes).
Is the black one trying to show that he is the dominate male cat or is he confused with the ginger cats scent and thinks he is a she?
I have tried to seperate them, but they stay stuck or the black one pins down the ginger one again.
Sometimes it seems the ginger one doesn't mind it.
They are both definate males.

something looking like snot is formed over them and it forms inside, well under the eye and it just covers it and sticks the eye shut. I have to constantly catch them and remove it and it's getting on my nerves.

my neighbor said if I kept on doing this they would eventually get stronger as they get older and it will stop, but I want to solve the problem now!

So any ideas or suggestions on what to do?

Is there a future heath risk I should look out for? I thought it was a girl at first, then after a year, it dropped 1 ball. I look underneath it and saw a female looking part, sort of. Should I get it vet checked to make sure it's okay??

My cat was recently diagnosed as being diabetic. My mom didnt want to put her down bc we had just put down our 7 year old cat 2 months before from kidney failure. Shes 15 years old slightly overweight but I love her to death. We have to give her 2 shots a day. What i'm wondering is how long can a diabetic cat live is it the same if she wasnt?

Can a cat who loves catnip eventually not like it anymore?

I just adopted a catnip junky, she's so funny with it, but I was wondering if she will always react this way, or if she will eventually ignore it.

Fresh catnip, of course, I know the smell/effectiveness wears off after a while.

My siamese mix cat has gotten very itchy over the past few months and it's to the point where he's scatching so much he has sores. I plan to take him to vet but due to extra bills this month I have a negative balance in my account and no money for a vet at this moment. No vets around us do payment plans. I'd like to try to ease his itching while I wait for my next two checks, anyone have any suggestions on stuff from home I could give him to ease his itchiness. He has no fleas so I know that's not the problem. I've tried switching food but so far it hasn't helped. Any help is appreciated.

I'm caring for feral kittens and have cleaned their eyes twice now, several have puss and are glued shut. I use warm water but think they need something stronger. I don't want them to go blind and can't afford to take them to a vet, let alone the momma letting me take them! They appear to be healthy otherwise.

My female cat is three years old. I adopted her when she was ten weeks old. As a kitten she chewed through EVERY cord she came across. Telephone cords, cell phone chargers, two-way radio chargers, mice, etc. (while they were plugged in). I know she was shocked once but didn't seem to phase her. I used "Apple Bitter" but it didn't work. It seemed to have subsided for a year and a half but now she has started up again. She is costing us a lot of money in electronics (upwards of $500... today it was a external cd drive). We have recently tried tabasco sauce and "Bitter Yuck" but, obviously, it hasn't worked. Any suggestions? It's an annoying and EXPENSIVE habit for her to have!

We just got home from the emergency clinic where our male cat was diagnosed with a UTI. I had a cat previous to this that started out having UTI's with occasional blockage. We had him on the Science Diet perscription diet for years and that kept it in check. Later in life he developed a problem with his kidneys which led to kidney failure. I don't know if there's a connection but I'd sure like to avoid it if possible, and common sense tells me there could be a connection with UTI and kidney problems.

My question is I'd like to research better foods and would be interested to hear any thoughts or good links to start researching. My cat has been eating dry food and I'm reading it's not the best. It's going to be hard to get this cat on a wet diet if it's needed (he doesn't like canned) and if you have suggestions about that it's welcome also. So far I've been looking at Wellness

Thanks in advance...

My new cat Magic, aged 1-2yrs, is going insane inside and looks longingly out of the window. RSPCA general advice is to keep new cats in for 3-4weeks before letting them go out. However she seems really bright and really loves to be near me, but despite lots of toys and playtime etc is clearly bored and would love outside. Is 10 days too short a time to have had her before letting her out?

We recently found two stray kittens and have decided to adopt them. Both are boys and we want to give them names that "go together". They are tiger striped cuties! Give us some ideas! Thanks!
