Can a cat who loves catnip eventually not like it anymore?
I just adopted a catnip junky, she's so funny with it, but I was wondering if she will always react this way, or if she will eventually ignore it.
Fresh catnip, of course, I know the smell/effectiveness wears off after a while.

i think if you give it to her too much she willl stop liking it my older cat did this..wanted nothing to do with it..but take it away for a few weeks its like its brand new

Not sure about them getting over the love of catnip but I found a new toy my cat can not only play with but eat as well. She loves it. Just lays beside it in a trance when I first open it and then bats it around for hours. If anyone gets close to it she goes crazy. It is made with really strong catnip and some sort of natural bonding that is human grade food item. The name is pawbreaker and I order from an ebay site. Will give the link. Now for the punch line, My cat is 16 years old and this makes her act like a kitten again. It has been amazing.

The more they're exposed to it, the more blase they get about it till they barely respond at all.
I make catnip mice, and have boxes of dry catnip that I've picked and dried all summer. My guys don't even get excited about it anymore.

certainly one of my cats does that stupid "chirp" style meow whilst he's calling out the window and sees a chicken or yet another animal. He does the "mwah" sound too. each time he does it I ask him "what?" and he continually repeats the "mwah" sound and then drops to the floor and rolls over for abdomen rubs. I continually figured it became his way of inquiring for interest. I even have 2 Maine Coon cats that growl whilst human beings walk by utilising the domicile. the female even is going so some distance as to guard the front backyard and run to the edge of the grass to growl at canines whilst different locals walk by utilising.
