I buy Castor & Pollux Organic kitten food. (it's dry)
She (my Madeline) really likes it. It does not have any fillers.
I also feed her Nature Organics brand of wet food twice per week.
Her coat is SO soft....her nails grow well and she hardly sheds. Nutrition is an important part of a cat's health. Make sure you feed your feline friend the best you can!

We actually buy dry from the feed store. We allways feed dry - less waste. Duralife,I believe it is called, in the yellow bag (not the cheapest). We've had cats for years, and tried many brands. What we have figured out is that it isn't always in the price.
The evolution of our feeding choice:
Started with just one cat, and typical name brand feeding. Moved to the farm 10 years ago. Funny thing happened on the way to the farm :-) - Strays. At one time we were up to 10 cats, mostly thanks to stray, pregnant females who found our deck a great place to give birth then decided to stay. We spay and neuter as we go. Some are so wild, it takes a couple litters before we can nab them to spay. ANYWAY, that means a LOT of food!
Name brands were overpriced in my opinion. We checked out feed store brands and chose Diamond. Unfortunately, one was allergic. If you've ever had more than one cat, feeding different brands is not an option. We switched back to name brand, didn't like that option, again price, but Schizzo seemed to have developed an allergy to what was in the name brand foods too. Tried a switch again, back to feed store Duralife (I think - don't quote me cause I don't look at the name as much as the color of the bag). No more allergy.
All the cats eat fine, no matter the brand. (Our siamese still loves to see kitten food come in to the house though she's five, but I'm not going to feed her that) The current brand was also one of the few foods we saw in our area NOT affected by the recall. The cats are all always very healthy, great coats, look wonderful.
Only trips to the vet are for spaying, neuterings. Never had a UTI or anything that would be food related. They do get hairballs though! We tried hairball foods, but Schizzo is allergic to those also. So, we just do hairball remedy we get from the vet. That would not be considered food related though. Occasionally, we get a war wound that requires anti-biotics, and have had one tick born disease that required special care. In those instances we will buy wet food to mix with meds or feed a weak cat. (To feed a weak cat, we mix the wet food with egg in a blender, then water it down enough to feed by dropper. )
That's the evolution of the cat food chioce here, and a glance at feeding the cats. Hope it helps you with good decisions!
Best to you.

I live on a acreage that I am lucky enough to have a large horse barn with an indoor riding arena, therefore I have both indoor kitties and outdoor kitties, all have been spayed or neutered, tends to keep them around the house.
I switch up food on them, just as if we ate nothing but eggs and bacon at every meal we would get tired of it, they are the same. I switch up from Meow Mix indoor kitty brand (it has grass in it for digestion) to Kit N Kabodle, not to sure I spelled that right. I get the stuffed kind for them.
They all do very well on it, even the kitties that I have had for 20 years. They all get good check ups and never need anything more than their well kitty shots.
I also give them tarter control Kitty Treats 4 or 5 days a week.
Confession; I also give them canned salmon once a week cause they are spoiled.

We feed our cats Eagle Pack. We give them the dry food mixed with a little of the canned food. We were given a sample of Eagle Pack when we adopted our kitten last year. Our older cat (he's 10) had always had a problem with his skin and fur. In the summer he would get clumps in his fur that actually had to be cut out, but as soon as we started him on the Eagle Pack his fur changed drastically. It's so soft and shiney. We also have our dog on Eagle Pack. This brand of food is pretty expensive, but it has made such a difference in our pets that we would never feed them anything else.

Nutrition since there are so many bad things out there is very important to your cat’s health
Contrary to what you may have heard, dry foods are not a great thing to feed a cat.
Dry foods are the number 1 cause of diabetes in cats as well as being a huge contributing factor to kidney disease, obesity, crystals, u.t.i’s and a host of other problems. The problems with it are that they are loaded with carbohydrates which many cats (carnivores) cannot process. Most of the moisture a cat needs is gotten
out of the food and 95% of it is zapped out of dry foods in the processing. Also, most use horrible ingredients and don't use a muscle meat as the primary ingredient and use vegetable based protein versus animal. Not good for an animal that has to eat meat to survive.
You want to pick a canned food w/o gravy (gravy=carbs) that uses a muscle meat as the first ingredient and doesn't have corn at least in the first 3 ingredients if at all. Fancy feast is a middle grade food with 9lives, friskies whiskas lower grade canned and wellness and merrick upper grade human quality foods. Also, dry food is not proven to be better for teeth. Please read about cat nutrition.

I used to feed Nutro Maxcat roasted chicken flavor, until the pet food recall.
Now I feed Solid Gold Katzen Flocken (these are both dry foods).
Canned food is one 3 oz can of Fancy feast split 3 ways 2 x a day.
I worked in a pet store & my cats have tried everything- these two foods are the only ones they'll eat.

i went 2 feeders supply a couple of years ago 2 get a different food because my cat was having allergies and I thought changing his diet might help.I asked the manager what I should get and he said he wouldnt feed his cat anything but Wellness brand. So that is what I have been feeding ever since. They have also come out with an even better one called Wellness Core. There food is organic and none of the ingredience come from out of the country. When all the pet food manufacturers were listed that were recalling foods(and they were many)Wellness brand was not listed on anything. It is made by old mother hubbard foods.

I have done tons of research on the subject, and I decided upon Nature's Variety Instincts (venison) and By Nature Organics (turkey and liver or chicken and liver).
I chose these because they are completely grainless, are low in calories, and both cats are willing to eat them.
I started researching cat food because Poppy was overweight and needed to lose several pounds and because she suffered from digestive upsets (consistently loose stool).
By switching to these very good quality foods, her stool is now consistently normal, her dandruff cleared up, she has lost weight, and has started acting like a cat again. Sophie, who is the very picture of good health, merely perked up even more and was able to resist the fleas that infested her sister.
I anticipate both cats being in the best of health for the majority of their lives.
There are other good brands out there - see the articles for more info on how to choose a good brand and where to find them.

My cat is SUPER picky and will only eat Iams (I know, I know...). But really, he won't eat anything else... not table scraps or most kitty treats and he KNOWS when I'm trying to incorporate a different food. I got him from the animal shelter a little over a year ago and he refused to eat for the first two weeks I had him. He'd barely touch tuna water, which is probably how he survived.
