A month is WAY TOO LONG for their eyes to not have opened completely.
Take a warm washcloth and use it to wipe the goo off of the eyes immediately. That goo is like bacteria that if left on there, it will keep causing their eyes to remain shut. If you don't stay on top of it constantly, it will keep coming back.
If it don't clear up rather soon (like within few days) take them to vet & have them check eyes out.
>You didn't mention if they are sneezing or other problems.... like runny noses (nasal drip) ..... so.... if they did have that, then I would just say forget the top stuff I said and take them to vet asap for respiratory infection (so you could get antibiotic > ask for liquid form & a dropper !!! Easiest ).
Have their eyes checked for any longterm effects by the vet, as they grow up to maturity.

A soft cloth with warm water might help. Get the eye wet and then wipe very easy. I called the vet for the same problem and he told me to come in and pickup an eye wash solution that worked great and this saved me from a vet bill! Also, kittens at 4 weeks old are not old enough for shots so there is no need to take them to the vet unless they are sick. Keep looking to see if their nose is clear and if it isn't they could have an upper respiratory infection and the vet will have to see them. Make sure they are in a warm place away from any drafts and air conditioners. Best of Luck!!

I would not put anything in there eyes the vet has not told you to. As far as I'm concerned this is normal for kittens, they will open all the way eventually and look normal. Just give them time, so I would just keep cleaning them with warm water when needed, and I am sure they will be fine! Good Luck.

Use human eye drops (Tobrex), 1 drop per eye, 3 times a day, for a week. When kittens open their eyes sometimes they can get infected and they may lose their eyes, unless treated. It would be best to consult a vet, because they may need oral medication too, but don't give oral medication on your own, without a vet's prescription. You can use the Tobrex eye drops though.

well ive been around kittens since i was little and when our kittens eyes where like stuck shut from eye boogers we just used a warm rag whenever we noticed and that did the trick. i think that when they are still small kittens it just happens and t will go away when they are like 6-8 weeks. but if your really concerned you cold take one to the vet and see what they say but i really reccomend just using a warm rag acouple times a day. good luck

Soft warm wet wash cloth with plain water...do not use any kind of soap on kittens...it can kill them. The only medication you can use is Tetramicin-(spelling?) it is an ophthalmic ointment.
good luck with the babies...

If you've had kittens, you've taken them to the vet, right? The vet should know.
And if you haven't, you probably should. You'll have to take them anyway to get them their first round of shots. Kittens are expensive!
