The only commercial I can think of right now that has anything to do with cats is a cat litter ad, and it has a male and female cat talking about the litter box, and how you can't tell how many cats have used it. He guarantees that many cats can use it, and she whistles and a gazillion cats come in for a party.
I guess I don't watch enough TV. I will be watching for sexism in cat food ads now.

No, in one commercial in Greece the cat was called Hercules, so it was definitely a "he".

I guess it's better than saying he/she all the time. He/She will love you for giving him/her this food... It is good for his or her bones... you get the idea. It sounds nicer than saying 'it'.
