Leukaemia IS a type of cancer. It is cancer of the blood.

Cancer is characterised by overgrowth of cells - in this case, white blood cells.

FeLV is a VIRUS that can cause cancer...among other problems. Just because a cat tests positive for FeLV, it does not mean they have cancer. They can have FeLV and not have changes in the level of white blood cells. When they get an infection, the white count will go up. They can also test positive and not have changes in the blood cells themselves.

FeLV is a virus. Not a cancer. Not all cats that have FeLV will get a cancer.
Just an increase in the white count is not a cancer either. That can be an infection as well.

Feline leukemia is a virus that acts a lot like the HIV virus in people. There is a vaccination for it. That makes it different than the human type of leukemia.

Yes leukaemia is a cancer but just cos a cat has feline leukaemia VIRUS does not mean they will get leukaemia. It can cause many other nasty problems from which a cat can also die from.

awww bless it!!! undesirable little element!!! have you ever tried the Get Off spray? concepts you that isn't be the final guess thinking kitty is poorly. try some lemon juice diluted in water and spray it interior the aspects the kitty has been pooing in. Have yet another one with merely water & spray the cat whilst it is going to poo someplace else...which could end it juts long sufficient so which you would be able to %. it up & positioned it interior the clutter tray. stable luck!!!

it is not actually a cancer but the virus can and may cause cancer..

maybe i am either naive or too knowledgeable, but people really think that leukemia is not cancer. i can't believe that.
