I ran it over with my car, needless to say it was a mistake.
Ive burried the body but im now shitting it. I think she knows i know something about it, shes talking about the law and everything. The cat was quite old, so its not like he was cut down in its prime. Ive had trouble with her before, shes getting on in years and is always looking for a fight with me,( i think its because i killed her last cat as well)
Should i own up, try to replace the cat with a new one(i got the idea from scooby do) or simply deny everything and hope my web of lies remains intact.
Maybe i should run her over.I could make it look like suicide.....

I really hope you are as sincere as you claim to be. The fact that this is the second cat you've killed does not thrill me.
If it really was an accident then it's her fault more than yours. Domestic animals should not be let outside to roam because "Accidents" happen and the animal almost always gets hurt, diseased, or dead. My Grammy was not a cat person and believed that keeping a cat in the house would kill it's spirit, needless to say she never had a cat live past 2 years. She'd prefer a dead body over a dead spirit. My cats live IN the house and are perfectly contented as they need not know the wretched world of tires or vengeful people.
She can talk to the law but law does not care about People let alone Cats, now had you run over her dog you could surely look forward to a prison term. I don't think you need to worry in that respect. You seem sorry for what you did and even gave the cat (hopefully a proper) burial. I don't advise you to bring it up to her if she is looking for reasons to hate you. It won't matter if you apologize or buried the cat or explain that it was an accident she won't hear any of that. She will only believe you killed her cat spitefully. If it is brought up to you in any formal manner the cat is her responsibility if she lets it loose surely any number of things can happen to it, why should it always have some direct involvement with you?
You were respectful enough to bury the animal, forgive yourself as it was an accident and stick to your guns - you know nothing.

well really you should not have burried the cat as that makes it look like it was your fault........she let her kitty out and the risk you take with that is it can get run over........maybe you could tell her what happened but say you did not realise it was her cat ,and gave it a little funeral as you felt that was best...... if it was 100% accident i'd not buy her a new cat, she'll know it's not her tiddles anyway, although if she is old and mad enough she may fall for it lol..
stop getting your ideas from Scooby Doo cos that shaggy is not exactly a clever lad, don't stop watching Scooby though cos it's great fun. xxxxx

Well accidentally hitting a cat with your car is not a crime, and not something for which she could hold you liable for.
Burying it and hoping she doesn't notice sounds like a lot of work to cover up an accident.
Personally, I would fess up, apologise, and if she wants a new cat from the pound, then yes, it would be a nice gesture to get it for her. Or you could offer to pay for it to be cremated.
Since you've already buried it, I would either dig it up and put it in a shoe box or something and give it to her, or tell her it was so badly hurt you buried it as you didn't want her to have to see it.
Either way, honesty is the best policy. You made a mistake. Unless you were drunk, speeding significantly or otherwise doing something you shouldn't have been doing, you should not feel overly guilty or that you have to lie about it.

It does sound like you are desperate. You do need to own up to this. Oh a tangeled web we weave when we practice to deceive! And what comes around goes around. are things that come to mind. Maybe she is lonely and arguing with you is her only way to socialize, hinse the cat factor. She needs them in her life, everyone should feel love and be loved.Go to a shelter find an older cat that needs her as much as she needs it. This will cost you, but in the long run it will be worth it. As for your last line, remember we all grow old, would you want someone to feel this way about you??

I'm really sorry, but you're just a BAD LIAR, next time try and make your stories more believable by not mentioning scooby doo or saying stuff like "I also killed her last cat", I'm serious, do that and I assure you you will be able to fool lots more people.
I hope you make good improvements on your lying skills!

Well police dog will find the cat regardless, so un burry it and apologize. Say it was an accident and that you'd be willing to replace her/him. Be honest because if you are not it WILL come back to bite you. Just do whats right, that is not lieing.
Good luck, and God Bless! :P

I think that you should have gone and told her in the first place but since its to late now unless you want her to hate you even more. I suggest buying her a new cat or getting a litter of kittens from the animal shelter and giving them to people and ask if she wants one. Don't just get one cat then it will so look like you did it.

You should tell her. If she does find out, and she's as crotchety as she sounds, there are laws she could use against you to take you to court. In some states you have to pay fines, I've heard of people doing jail time, as well! Plus, it's illegal to bury animals any where other than a pet cemetery. No one really does that, but she could get you there, too. Yeah, just tell her.

She should have kept her cat inside. Don't fess up, that will get you in trouble for not reporting the accident (which is illegal). Just wait it out, eventually she'll get over it. Just be more careful and if she gets another cat, try not to hit it! ANyways, unless she videotaped you hitting the cat or saw where u buried it or whatever, she has no case against you.

Hire someone to run YOU over. Twice. It would be cosmic justice.
Don't wait until you're old like the cat. Do it now.
