The piece was 1 inch long. I haven't found the rest of the rubber band anywhere, so I don't know how much he has swallowed. He pooped all right though, the rubber band was right in the middle of the poop. Do you think there is danger or that he will be fine and poop the rest out like he pooped this one? The problem is I am just fostering the kitten and it will go to a barn tomorrow, so I won't be able to watch it all the time if he poops. I will call the vet in the morning, I was just wondering if you have any idea about it.

It was a rubber band, not a worm. I thought it was a worm at first, but then I isolated it and I checked it, and it was rubber!

Well most likely the cat just ate a rubber band. They love playing with those things, mine does to so I have to be carefull.Look it sounds like the cat has no problem,I think it's gonna pass natural through his intestinal system. But,do keep an eye on him, inform the people where he is going too,if they see that he hasn't pooed for two days in a row or if they see he suddenly doesn't feel good,is feverish or anorectic take him to a vet immediately.
If you are really worried you could also do an ultrasound to check his belly and intestines before you give him away, but I don't think there is going to be a problem, since rubber bands are not that large so a blockage isn't very likely.

I think the "rubber band" might actually be a worm! They look like a rubber band in the animal's stool, the vet will know. Good luck and kudos to you for helping out the kitten! :)

Yeah ... Like others are saying, It might of been a worm. Or, if you go to the vet and it wasn"t a worm then maybe your kitten found it around the house and ate it. But , incase take your kitten to the vet to make sure.

If you're sure it's not a tape worm, which could be rubberband looking, there could still be a problem. The rubberband could possibly get stuck or wrap around his intestines, causing a blockage that would require surgery. However, I would make sure that it's not worms by taking the stool to the vet and having it tested.

It's a good idea that you're calling the vet just to make sure, but I don't think it's anything to worry about. Kittens swallow all sorts of things playing around.
My baby at 4 months actually swallowed a price tag. I had no idea she did that until I found it in her poo. I was a little freaked out that this happened and I didn't even notice, but she was fine. And she hadn't even started solids yet. Lol.

If the kitten looks ok, then she probabley is. Just call the vet to make sure tomorrow. :))

He may have worms, not rubber band(s). Did you pull it out to try to "stretch" it? LOL. Worms in kittens are common, or can be. it should be ok.

well obviously he swallowed a rrubber band or parts of it

it could be life threatening, as it could cut up his intestines

I don't know if you would do this with a rescue kitten but you should at least talk to your vet about cheap options to deal with it

Often an option is surgery but I don't know besides waiting it out what else you could do

I dont think a rubber band is a serious problem, I wouldn't worry about it, but make sure you don't have anything poisonous or sharp that he could eat, that might be a little worse.
