Clean the carpet with White Vinegar to remove the
urine smell. The smell of the vinegar will take
2-3 hours to go away. Or at the pet shop, get a black
light which will show you where the urine spots are on the carpet. Then use enzyme cleaner, also found at the pet shop,to clean the carpet. White vinegar costs about $2. while
the enzyme cleaner costs around $15.

If the cat isn't fixed this will cause the cat to
pee on the floor/carpet & elsewhere. So get
the cat fixed if not yet done. A unirary tract infection
will also cause the cat to lose control & to pee on
the carpet. If the cat is stressed it will pee on
the carpet.

Cat pee and dust do not smell at all alike, if she has been the only cat in there and it smells like pee then she is the culprit. First off wash the whole carpet, then once that is dry get some cat urine remover spray at your pet store get the largest bottle you can, I find a few soakings works best. You spray it on till the area is wet, let it dry and redo it again. Even if you cannot smell the pee your cat can so just washing it will not remove the smell. She may still go back and pee just from habit and I have never found a way to stop a cat once they start peeing where they are not supposed to.

I would go and find a good stain and odor remover, and also a pet stain sensor thing.I can sense where there are actual pet stains. Our stair carpet smells like cat pee,and it hasn't ever gone away-you might have to get a new carpet.

You're going to have to use some enzyme stuff, zero odor, vinegar, Resolve, or something to change the odor. Don't be fooled that your cat didn't do it- if it smells, somebody did!

their are many stain and oder removers at stored like petsmart and petco or at your local pet store, they are made specifically for pet oders like cat urine, if your cat is peeing on the rug she may not like the litter, the literbox location(they don't like it if its to close to were they eat)try using cat attract litter brand and place a water dish where she pees, cats don't like to pee or poo where they eat and drink.

you can't ..
cleaning with disinfectant / bleach will just encourage her to go back to that area to pee..

put a litter tray over the area ..
has she been spayed ?? unaltered females do spray to attrach male attention.. she could be scenting her area..
