My kitten goes crazy whenever my daughter or I have food. He goes nuts trying to get to it. I have never had a cat act like this over food. He is about 5 months old and is getting neutered on 09/26/07. I have to tap him on the nose, push him off my lap, put him on the floor to try and eat. I literally have to hold him so my daughter can eat in peace. He will try anything he possibly can to get away to race over and steal her food. What can I do to stop this behavior, or at least slow it down some? I really don't want to have to lock him in a separate room to eat.

I've heard of this but I'm little confused about it. What is it? If it's bad, can it be prevented?

My male cat has been alone with me all his life. I volunteer at a cat shelter and have taken one of the kittens home yesterday. I thought it would be temporary but this kitten deserves a home and not to go back to the shelter. My older cat hisses and growles. I am torn now between the two. Did I do wrong by the older cat. He has been my boy for so long and now I find I have to divide my love for 2. I don't know what to do. Help!

I have always liked cats, and dogs. I have liked some pets more than others. I get tired of that stupid bumper sticker that says "Lost your cat? Check under my tires." Not funny. When I was young, my mom watched some stupid "redneck" in a big truck swerve into our front yard to purposely run down my pet Siamese cat, George. When people laugh about that kind of thing, especially with cats, it really gets me steamed.

I read somewhere a few months ago that cats purred when they were hurt/injured as well as happy etc. Is it true?

Sometimes the tuna for my sandwiches is cheaper than pet food. Should I buy it for my cat? When I open a can of cat tuna what's inside is dark reddish brown. Chicken of the Sea is never that color. Why?

15 y/o cat, regularly groomed, seized Thurs 9/20
during bath. all natural detergent free shampoo. same always used. He is the third cat to seize at bath recently. Can improper mixing of natural ingredients cause seizures? Could product be contaminated? Cat vet treated. Still clumsy 9/24, inner eyelid covering eye, treated with steroid & valium. Vet expected improvement in a few days. Any info, comments, help appreciated.

i have a deaf white cat. she is about 9 years old or maybe even older. she has been throwing up alot the past week. most of it looks like hair balls. some of it is just food. but for the past day or so all that comes out is like white foam or spit. not sure what is going on with her. i took her outside last night & she ate a lot of grass. she is bad. she eats alot of things that she should not like ribbon. we try to keep that away from her but she finds it. she also will eat fake plants. she has been sleeping & hiding alot. she seems like she is cold. she sleeps in front of the fridge if she is not hiding. what could be wrong?

My cat recently started peeing on my pillows on my bed and on my thorw pillows and throw blankets on my couches. Could this be a bladder infection and if so how do I cure it? Can giving him cranberry pills in his food help? He is 1 1/2 years old and fixed. I recently had to give him seditives because we moved could that be causing the problem he also had ear mites taken care of. Could that have led to a urinary tract infection?

All of our pets have been named for food (muffin, taffy, butterfinger and cookie dough). We already have a black cat named licorice and just got a new black kitten, but can't think of another food name. Any ideas?

He started doing this a day or two ago, but it seems to be increasing in frequency. It almost looks as though something is stuck in his mouth, but when I open his jaw I don't see anything. He also growls and refuses to be touched while it happens. Tooth pain, maybe?? I am thinking I should be taking him to the vet, but any advice before then would be appreciated.

It happened a week ago. He is eating and drinking lots of water but I had to make him a bed outside because of the urine, his pee is clear but he squats and goes in the house and leaks when I pick him up. I'm wondering if it's permanent. I don't have money for a vet and doubt they could do anything anyway. Has anyone had a cat recover from this?

We have have had our cats for almost a year now. We adopted them from our local Humaine Society, a male and female, brother and sister. Just the other day the male started urinating and pooping every where, in a pile of clothes, on the floor, on the couch. Nothing has really changed in his environment. His stool is slightly discolored and soft. I haven't been filling the food and water dishes as much as I had been. I took him to the vet and he said that is was a behavioral issue. I am worried that he is sick and I don't want to ignore it.

We heard from a doctor that there is something wrong with her liver. She has a really big round gut, but she does not show any sign of pain. She threw up a few times the other day, but now is okay.

Anything I can do, or any idea on how she will be?
