He is about 15 years old. Every time I scratch him under the chin around his throat, he suddenly leans his head way forward, his eyes widen a lot, and his head shakes a little with each stroke. His head also started to tremor involuntarily for about five or six hours before it stopped. He also recently got his leg broken, just FYI. Is he having a stroke? Why does he do that when I scratch him on the neck by the throat?

I take my cat to a local vet clinic. the people there were always nice and helpful. the vet i usually have has moved and now there is a new guy. my cat freaks out everytime we go to the vet. she hisses and scratches. she never scrathed my old vet but she scratched the new one. i dont like this vet because he was very short with me and didnt really answer my questions. my cat has an ear infection and he didnt tell me how i can prevent them in the future. he pretty much just gave me the meds and sent me off. but he was quick to give me sedatives for my cat. he told me to give her 2 pills before visits. i gave her the pills for the follow up visit but she was out of it for alomost a whole day. when i called animal poison control they said that based on her weight she should have had only 1 pill not 2. i was so worried that i caused my cat permanent damage. i know its my fault because i had a bad feeling about that vet but i took her there anyway. obviously i will never go there again.

I bought my male tabby from a farm, we have had him for just over a week now and is a relaxed little kitty. I then bought another kitten, as a kind of play mate for him, she bengal cross ginger female kitten who we have had for about 3-4 days now. they are both the same age, but really do not get on. She hisses at him and growls, and they both fight whenever they see each other. It is upseting and I'm wondering if they will ever get on. She is alot more highly-strung than him and is initiates the fights!
Will they ever get on? Help! Thanx!

i just feel like i should give her another chance before i spaye her. She was brought to the vet with the one surviving kitten to make sure there was nothing wrong and everything was fine. so i dont know wat went wrong. She seemed like a good mother. I feel so bad for her cuz she keeps looking for her kittens. :(

My boyfriend and I are thinking about adopting a kitten. He is mainly concerned about it peeing everywhere. Is there a difference between male and female cats and their litterbox habbits? I have heard that male cats peeing habbits are worse then females? Is this true, please only answer if you know for sure.

My next question is about the cats behavior. My boyfriend wants a playful cat as well as a lap cat. He does not want a shy cat that hides under the bed. My guess is that if you give your cat a loving and healthy home then it will be just fine right?

I only want to get this kitten if I am 100% positive we will both be happy with it. I don't ever want to have to take the cat back to the shelter for ANY reason, and I do want to help save ones life.

I know that there are ways to get massages/hairstyles done cheaper, by getting them done at a cosmetology school/massage therapy school, etc. Is there a way to get my two kitten's shots for a bit cheaper than the vet, like perhaps from a supervised veterinary student? How would I even search for something like that? Thanks!

About 1000 cats have been saved from slaughtering for food in China by a lady, who keeps them in her flat for the time being, until they find a new home worldwide. Do you realize how many have been massacred already? I suggest that we embargo China as a tourist destination, even Chinese restaurants in Europe.

Oh, well cat had something - not even sure if fleas... they were little black things that u can see and they like, walk. Well, she slept WITH me, in my bed, next to my head, like all the time before we found out. Gave her like 3 flea baths with flea shampoo, and I washed my hear EXTREMELY good with shampoo and conditioner. So, where should I go from here?

just adopted a 2 mo. old kitten today. was told she'd be fine outside. I want to take it in to get fixed this week. I put food out for her, and some toys, but i didn't force her out of her carrier...she was sad and scared...so i talked to her sweetly... tried to entice her to come out and play...but i let her be when she refused to come out. was told she also doesn't like to be touched. so i understand that it will take time for the kitty to trust me. her foster mom told me she would always come back as long as there is food... I have a huge garden where she can be hiding or exploring...should I be worried?

I feed ALL of my animals ample amounts of food (based on their weight) twice a day. But my kitten is ALWAYS hungry!! He eats all of his food, goes to my other cat's dish (who is overweight, so he has separate food) and eats his AND THEN STILL manages to polish off (or atleast steal) some of my other two dogs food. I don't get it! Anytime he sees me even walking anwhere close to where he gets fed, he PLOWS through the house like he has never eaten before.

He has all his up to date shots, he has been dewormed, and he is a seemingly healthy cat othewise. I only feed him healthy, organic, human grade food... so it's not like I am giving him crap that never fills his belly! I am not worried... it just gets expensive! But should I be worried?

He likes to lay in boxes. The first time we saw him jump inside of a cardboard box that we received in the mail and lay inside there, we knew something was up. We thought he liked it, so we bought him a cubic bed that has a hole in it so he can climb in there and he loves it!! Is this ordinary that a cat loves to lay in cubes?

My neighbors felt sorry for it at first and now I think they stopped feeding it but it still hangs around. It's such a nice cat. It doesn't cause trouble or make noise or anything. All it likes to do is follow you around when you get mail or walk your dog. I don't think it's getting very much food.

My new puppy gets revoloution once a month, I am going to start him on frontline plus though, but my indoor cats have gotten the fleas, I don't really like using the frontline or anything like it. Would a flea collar work the same, or is there something else I could try? I am getting them shaved down on friday, and I will have one dose of frontline plus put on them to get rid of the problem, but how should I prevent it another time?
Also are fleas around only in the spring and summer or are they in the fall and winter too?
Please help, I am really paranoid about fleas. They make me feel like I am a bad pet owner, or that I am dirty, but I am not.
Thanx for your help!!
