My cat, Kira Bean, is about 11 months old and she loves to drink baby oil. We aren't giving it to her at all and try to keep it away from her as much as possible, but if we use it on ourselves she comes running and trying to lick it off. I'm just wondering if it's normal and if it's really bad for her. Thanks!

I know it seems crazy that this has gone on for so long but I guess I have adjusted. However, I know that this distrupts my sleep and makes me groggy during the day. I moved into a studio several months ago so I can no longer lock him out of my room. I have tried feeding him late at night and squirting him with a watergun when he wakes me but he seems to think it is a game. And now, get this, he wakes me when there is still food in his bowl from the night before! He is the love of my life but this is getting to be too much.

Other than that he is happy and healthy. Should I be concerned?

we have had our cat, griffen for almost 6 months now; he is neutered and almost 2 years old. we have 1 other cat (female) we got her about 2 months after griffen. all of a sudden, about 2 weeks ago, griffen started spraying in our downstairs extra bedroom; the ONLY room he sprays in. we cant catch him doing it, but you can clearly smell it!! my husband wants to get rid of him; i cant bear to part with him! PLEASE is there anything i can do to make him stop?? we have 2 litter boxes cleaned out regularly and dont have any problems with him not using it. and why would he start all of a sudden?

For the first two weeks I had him, he would sleep in my bed nicely. Then he started biting me at night and, as much as I ignored him, he would just start biting harder. So I started keeping him in the bathroom, as I live in a studio apartment and it's the only other room.
Now, he will meow *all night long*. I don't want to let him out in the morning when he's meowing, I would rather wait until he stops to reward him, but I have a job and I cannot wait hours to go to work! I wear earplugs and still the sound cuts through, it's hard to sleep.
When I let him out, I ignore him until he stops meowing. But he will never stop meowing and then he starts biting me to get my attention. He'll keep biting harder and harder, I've been bitten 4 times this morning already. I just move away when he does it, or pull his chair so he has to go back on the floor and can't bite me.
My cat is neutered and has been checked out by a vet, he's healthy. I have another cat who does not behave this way.

My cat has had a UTI for 3 weeks. The vet prescribed her with meds and at first they seemed to be working but now she is not using the litter box again and has blood in her urine. She has also been vomiting a lot. I took her to an animal hospital and they gave her some new medicine and also some pills for the vomiting. She still seems sick and there is still blood present in the urine. Is there anything else I can do to make her feel more comfortable or anything else I need to do??? PLEASE HELP

I was told by the horticulturist that a peace lily is not a true lily, so I am assuming it does not pose the liver failure damage that true lilies do to cats. Does anyone have any information about peace plants and cats? If my cat ingests it will the only risk be mild gastric distress?

Hello all. I have a male cat that has been with my family and I for about 2 years. He's a very good cat. He doesn't bite, scratch or "terrorize" myself or my kids. We are looking at adopting a 1 year old terrier dog. The dog is bigger than the cat. I was told by the SPCA that this dog is good with cats and already house trained. I don't want to bring home this dog and have my house destroyed or my cat injured or the dog injured.
My cat is declawed and only goes outside for a few minuets at a time. He likes to be indoors.

Any ideas?

Thanks

There is a person that is causing trouble with people that writes their opinon on declawing and that he will report them if they say anything about it. I will ask that person does people opinons stink if they tell a person that has asked a question about declawing and what the cat went through and how the cat is doing etc. What happened to FREEDOM OF SPEECH.

The Stray Cat

Oh, what unhappy twist of fate
Has brought you homeless to my gate?
The gate where once another stood
To beg for shelter, warmth and food
For from that day I ceased to be
The master of my destiny.

While he, with purr and velvet paw
Became within my house the law.
He scratched the furniture and shed
And claimed the middle of my bed.

He ruled in arrogance and pride
And broke my heart the day he died.
So if you really think, oh Cat,
I'd willingly relive all that
Because you come forlorn and thin
Well....don't just stand there,
Come on in...

When we adopted him he was a inside outside cat so keeping him in the house is not an option.

A stray has been staying around outside of our house for a few weeks now. It has taken to letting us sit and pet her. I was just brushing her with a wire brush (she loves it) and whenever I do this, it brings these little seed like looking bugs to the surface of her fur. And there are LOTS of them. What are they? They are light in color and don't look like typical fleas and they crawl, they don't jump.

Please, no comments to the effect of "take her to the vet" and "take her to the humane society". I am not on here looking for that kind of info, if you give it I will give you a thumbs down and NO hope of getting a best answer. My husband is allergic to cats and I can't take her in. I am willing however to get her medication to rid the bugs if I knew what they were. Thank you.

I have two 9 month old kittens who will be going off kitten food soon. I also have just taken in a stray, now 12 weeks old. Stanley, one of my older kittens, is already pretty big and I am worried than if he eats kitten food he will continue to get much bigger than he should. How do I keep the older cats from eating the kitten food that the little one needs?

The thing is, is that she's cleaned her 5 new kittens and has totally fed them, and me and my sis have been there the whole time. I've read to give the babies and mum some privacy for the first 3 days so after assuring that she's safe, we've left her alone in a big box full of blankies for her and her kits in a nice, warm room....so here's my problem:

She keeps climbing out of her box of kittens to come find us, and if we leave she leaves to find us. She's obviously telling us she doesn't want to be alone, but i thought we were supposed to be giving them privacy? What should we do? One of us stay with her and her kits all the time?

I currently have a 13 year old male cat that has been an only cat for the entire 13 years we have had him...I would love to get a kitten also. How do you think my 13 year old would get along with a kitten? My current cat is very spoiled and sleeps with his head on my pillow every night.

I recently bought a persian kitten for my daughter's b-day.
We have had her for about 3 weeks now.
All of a sudden my daughter has 4 ringworms on her and I'm almost positive that this kitten has given it to her since she is always carrying it around.
Is there something that I can give the cat in order to not give her ringworms any more?
Thanks guys :)

When I came home from work she was not on the counter to greet me. So I looked for her and found her behind the T.V stand dead. It looked like she was comfortably laying down. There was blood coming from her snout. I don't understand what happened...

She was healthy, young, happy, loving. She was less than two years old! I'm so upset. I feel like this is all my fault. She has a 'sister' and I could tell she's upset. I don't know what to do to help her out. They are the same age.

My little kitten has either got something in her eye or poked it with something, she normally has bright blue eyes but one is nearly shut and the eye colour looks green, she is still eating and purring, I have rinsed it with water and she has gone to sleep. Any ideas , should I see a vet tonight or shall I see how it is in the morning
