I firmly believe that our cats love us and I don't think it's just because we feed them. I have 3 cats and it is my daughter's job to feed them every morning. Our female cat loves me and wants nothing to do with my daughter. I can pick her up, hold her, pet her, whatever I want. She sleeps with me every night and cuddles. Our two male cats love us both. One greets us everyday by rubbing his face on ours and patting our face with his paws, but when other people come over he won't even come around. The other male cat is friendly with everyone, but clearly prefers to be with me. All 3 cats respond to us in different ways. They all have their unique personalities and I think that they know they are part of our family.

Sure cats can love their humans & I don't think it's only because we feed them. Our cats will hang out with me whether I'm sitting in a comfy chair reading, or kneeling on the cold kitchen floor scrubbing. They might think people are big kitties-- I remember seeing smething on PBS quite awhile back that & they said that our cats tend to think of us as their mom, which is why they remain affectionate & playful towards us their whole lives (it's a nice form of arrested development).
If your kitty loves hanging out with you, purrs, plays & snuggles with you & maybe even brings you things you can be sure that he or she loves you.

yah, I think cats can love their owners. Why not? And probably because we feed them yes! and also because we are their companion. They love you in all sorts of ways, my old cat (she died about 2 years ago) would refuse to eat, unless you were standing right there beside her, well, she would eat if she were really hungry! lol And she would also sleep with me every night!

My kitty (17 yr) loves eating and even though I know he loves me he makes me think that he is around just for the food. He asks for food and food. He recovered from being sick, required a lot of attention. He is adorable, I can now see that he is thanking me and loves me. The food love is just because he is bored. He is neutred and indoor, the only thing fun is to eat. Even animals realized sometimes that they should pay attention to us, they just have to realize it. Thankfully my kitty made it to his healthy self

i think that cats love you in their own special ways.

my cat booger shows his love by demanding to be fed at 5:30 in the morning and he won't leave you alone until he gets fed.

my cat Vayder on the other hand curls up on my lap and nuzzles with me every chance he gets

of course they love their owners. like a child loves his/her parents. if your cat starts to groom you, you know you're loved. Play hunting games (fishing line toys) with your cat, groom him and pet him... he will grow to you love you. Good Luck! =)
