When I came home from work she was not on the counter to greet me. So I looked for her and found her behind the T.V stand dead. It looked like she was comfortably laying down. There was blood coming from her snout. I don't understand what happened...

She was healthy, young, happy, loving. She was less than two years old! I'm so upset. I feel like this is all my fault. She has a 'sister' and I could tell she's upset. I don't know what to do to help her out. They are the same age.

OMG that is so scary, I am so sorry! Did you take her body to the vet to see if they could examine her to see what happened? My cat has actually been sick for the last month and I have been afraid to come home to him dead!! That would just be so horrible because I love him so much and I am sure you loved your lil kitten!

I'm so sorry! I don't know what happened, maybe she hit her head on something, or had some kind of internal bleeding. Is it possible that there was an accident a while ago, and it was a kind of delayed reaction? You could take her to the vet and have an autopsy done. And maybe getting annother cat would help the sister. Although if they were really close, it might not make any difference at all. It wasn't your fault, I know how you feel too, my first cat, (She was about 6) was an indoor/outdoor cat and she was outside one day when the bugman came to spray our house. She was always a big eater, yet she was in great shape, and was extremely friendly but a couple days later she quit eating, and always wanted to be alone. We took her to the vet, and they said there wasn't anything they could do for her, that she had gotten some kind of human version of Leukemia. So we had to put her down. It still makes me sad to think about her. (We later found out the bug guy had sprayed her directly with the poison, and she probably licked herself and ingested it) So maybe your cat was poisoned unintentionally?

I am really sorry for your loss. I am agreeing with everyone who said take her to get an autopsy. That is the only way you can know for sure. I know how you are feeling right now... My very first cat was really loving and easy going. I got him when I was six years old, and he actually put up with me! Anyway, 6 or 7 years later we moved to the country and he was able to be an indoor/outdoor cat. He came home one day acting weird, and he didn't look well. I couldn't afford to take him to the vet so I just cared for him the only way I could. The next day when my dad picked me up from school I asked him how Elliot was doing, and he said that he didn't make it. Come to find out the people across the street had put rat poision out, he ingested it somehow and his liver failed :( I was completely devastated. People don't realize how pets really are like your family members, and how it hurts terribly to lose one. My thoughts will be with you. *hugs*

I'm sorry for your loss. It must have been an awful shock to find her like that, especially as she was so young. Without an autopsy a vet may not be able to diagnose why it happened, but it might be worth at least speaking to them in case for health reasons you should have your other cat checked.

The web article "When Cats Grieve" may be helpful to you and her sister at this very sad time.

I hope that you have someone to talk to and a shoulder to cry on, to help you with your grief.

I'm very sorry for your loss. You could arrange with your vet for an autopsy, which might be a good idea since there is another cat in the house and you want to rule out something infectious.

I'm so sorry....she might have had a tumor and some cats don't show much signs...did she have a decrease in appetite?

Give the other cat a lot of attention for a while to make her feel better

I am sorry for your loss. It's always hard to lose a pet. The best thing to do is take your kitty to the vet and have them do an autopsy on her to see what went wrong.

I'm very sorry about your cat. It wasn't your fault.
I'm not quite sure about what happened to your cat, but she may have been electrocuted if you found her behind the t.v.

i am sorry for your loss, sometimes cats are given to us for a short time. Then they are taken away. Remember the good times you had with her. God Bless

Take her body to the vet's office, and ask them if they can do a autopsy.
