It sounds like it is either old pus (does she have a wound on her chin? Could be as a result of an abcess, a wound that ruptured), or bile vomit. Of these two, I would think it is pus because most cats would not allow vomit to hang off their chins...they'd rather be dead than have anyone catch them with that *L*

In either case, I would suggest to have a vet look at it because if it is pus as a result of a wound, it would probably require the help of antibiotics as well as a good cleaning, to make sure the infection doesn't spread. If it is a severe abcess, it may require surgery in order to remove dead tissue and then clean the area under the skin.

If its vomit residue that landed on your cat's chin, then I would wait to see if the vomitting continues. It may be as a result of an upset stomach but if it continues several times, it will need medical attention.

Its really hard to say, since the details provided is a bit broad...

Hope this helps

All kinds of things can cause a thick yellow film on a cat's chin.

Could be she ate a raw egg and got yolk on her face. In this case, wash her face.

Could be bile from vomit. In this case, take her to the vet.

Could be effluvia - pus - from a burst abscess or infected tooth. This will smell foul as well - in this case, take her to the vet.

Your cat may have a bad tooth or a mouth infection. Either way he/she will probably need to go to the vet. Cats are prone to these infections, especially if they go outside. Antibiotics are probably all that will clear up an infection like this. Check the mouth to make sure nothing is hung in its teeth.

Why are you asking on here and not checking for yourself to see what it is!? It could be something as little as a piece of anything in it's mouth to an abscessed tooth or injury to it's mouth! You need to look at it and take the appropriate action like a Vet if need be.

Sounds like bile... from vomit. Did he vomit today? If you didn't notice, I suggest you check around to be sure.
