I took my cat to the vet today because she has really rapid breathing and has been acting really funny for like 3 weeks. the vet took an xray and told me that my cats lungs are floating in fluid and there is really nothing that you can do. she is suffering because she is having problems breathing and we decided to put her to sleep tomorrow but i want to make sure i am making the right decision. i can't remember what she told me the disease was that she has. does anyone know of or heard of anything like this that can help me with what to do. i love her so much and have been crying my eyes out because she will be one year old on july 15. i dont know what to do but i can stand to see her suffering anymore. anyone know what this condition is called and if there is anything i can do to help her. please! i am so sad!!!

Hi there cat people,

I have a two-year-old female cat (she's beautiful!) and she has the butt worms....AGAIN.

We took her to the vet a few months back, and he gave her a pill (which she did NOT take well) for the worms. The worms came right back.

My questions are:

1) WHAT is causing the worms?

and

2) Is there another, more effective (perhaps over-the-counter) treatment that anyone could suggest using?????

P.S. - The "butt worms" are tiny, white worms that look like...well.....sesame seeds when the die/dry. Ewww.

Thanks for your help!

My 2 kittens are going to be strictly indoor cats only, as I live in an apartment and I know how traumatic it can be for an outdoor cat to move from place to place. Normally I am against getting cats de-clawed, but in this case my 2 kittens are definitely going to need to just have their front claws de-clawed I think. What is the ~youngest~ they can be to get de-clawed? Right now they are both right at 3 mos. I think. Thanks for your help in answering my question.

My neighbor is going to feed him, and my friend will come over one day to be with him for a few hours. The problem is that he is an only "child" and he doesn't seem to like me being gone too long. I usually have a pet sitter, but she can't do it this time and I can't afford boarding him. I don't want to leave him alone, but I really have no choice. Do you think he will be ok?

would a person totally shave a cat?
There are these people below where I live, they have one cat(at least that is all I have seen and I have also petted this cat, when it comes around) I live about four flights up..and I sometimes see the cat and we "hang out" together! The first time I saw the cat, it had a reddish wound and some hair loss on the back of it's neck. The second time, the wound was healing...and wasn't red, but it still had some hairs missing.
Now, today, I saw the cat below me,while standing out on our apartments terrace, and the cat was totally shaven!!!
Is the normal? Where we all live,it is humid alot..but, we also have huge "t -storms" too!
Mostly it has been very, very humid...but, why would a person or people want or have to shave a cat?
Is it abuse, or is this "normal" and I shouldn't worry about this cat?

thanks!

I am getting ready to adopt a kitten and want the best food and Innova EVO seems to be it. I can not seem to find a kitten formula but some foods are wholesome enough to feed to kittens as well. Help!

Im looking for a declawed cat, either a tabby, or a calico, preferably female, and either free, or for sale at a low price. It doesnt matter if at a adoption center, or at a private breeder, or even at a house, it really doesnt matter, and if they are cheap, declawed, cute, female, and have all of their shots up-to-date. I will give you 10 points!!!

We when to the vet and had are cat Duke checked out he check for his sore's that were were sure were not ring worm. The Ve was dumb founded and took a wild guess for ring worm and all the test came back neg. Then vet put him on a meds that did not help at all(ant-boticis(dont think that spelled right)). The sore's do not seem to bother him at all less he's touched there. They seem more like a skin problem than anything to me as well what the vet said. They seem to be getting worse few bumb's on his ears and more spots. My vet seem to be stumbed and really has no glue dont really have the money for a 1000000 vet bill in tell he guess right it. Any ideas?
(yes my grammar and spelling are worse that 1 grader no need tell me what already know)

I have a dog and she is about 8 years old. About a year ago we rescued a kitten and she was about 4-6 weeks old, although the vet said that she was 8 weeks old. I don't know if it is just because my cat grew up with my dog, but she seems to have all of my dog's quirky mannerisms. Does she really believe that she is a dog due to the lack of a cat in her upbringing?

I've had my cat Bandit for two years. Recently moved out and got a new cat. Now I want Bandit back as well. She has always been easily scared. She's afraid of the new cat. She's afraid to eat. She's afraid to even to go to the bathroom! The only way I can get her to go is if something scares her and she runs off defecating along the way! What can I do?!

The neighbours claim our beautiful cat simply prefers their quiet abode to our own house and has chosen to move in with them. In fact they have encouraged her to spend time with them by offering her platefuls of fresh cream, delicious snacks and loads of affection every time she enters their house. We call for her a couple of times a day but she won't budge - she just sits on the neighbour's balcony.

We desperately want to get her back. We think the neighbours have stepped over the line here and have basically stolen her in quite an underhand and devious manner. What to do?

I bought some Frontline through an eBay seller and I can't find an expiration date. I've used the stuff for 2 months and it's not working. Also, the viles don't seem like they're as full as they should be.

How full are the viles supposed to be(my viles have about a half inch depth of liquid at the bottom of the vile; midway between the bottom and middle lines)?

I came home earlier and fixed my kitten some formula, when I went in the room to say Hi, he wagged his tail like a dog. It was pretty cute, what did it mean though? Also, he hasent pooped since we got him, and he has peed twice, on me. If I put him in his litter box he just jumps out. At first we thought it was my cats scent, so we got him his own litter box in a different room, but he still wont use it. I tried scratching his paw and making a scratching movement, but he just stood there and then jumped out.

They look like little pieces of rice coming out of her behind. It's gross we've tried everything but they end up coming back. She is like one of the family an so i want to help her get well. I also use food that is supposed to help. She is an indoors only cat and never goes outside. She is also an only cat.

I started feeding her Wellness chicken formula and 1 boiled chicken breast dialy. (2 meals a day- morning and night) About every week or so I will watch her eat grass down by our lake and then throw up what I stated above. Is this normal for cats? She does not throw up any food, just the liquid....... She is a bit small for her age because she was the runt of the litter, but the vet told me she was healthy but I could add a chicken breast in with her normal food for extra protien. I also give her a hairball remedy once a week....... does this sound any bit normal for my baby?

My cat will always rub his nose and lips/teeth on my face. I'm assuming it's a form of affection. Am I the only one?

My cat is a good kitty before she would just sleep anywhere. I lived in a cramp apt. I moved to two story house now and she is all over the place. There is this windowby my bed that has no screen. She loves to go out the window and look around. She does come back after playing at night. When I sleep at night she falls to sleep on me. She has never done this before. I rolled over one time she was asleep o my other pillow. Another time I woke up she was asleep on my leg. Just last night I was just about to fall asleepwith. On my back with my arm sticking out on the side. She layed down and cuddled on my arm I thought it was cute.

Does anybody ever had this happened to them with their cat?
Or does it mean she is happy because she is in a better place?
