Male cats don't go into heat. "Heat" is when the female cat is ovulating and is therefore receptive to being mated. A male cat will mount a female that he believes to be receptive, whether the male is fixed or not. Some males don't seem to realise they've been neutered, but go through the motions anyway! However some females will attack a male attempting to mount her, so he has probably learned to leave the other cat alone. A female is not "in heat all the time" unless there's something wrong. I suggest you get your un-neutered female fixed, or at least checked to find out why she is displaying "heat" behaviour all the time.

Cats are capable of getting pregnant almost as soon as they have given birth. They are induced ovulators - the act of mating causes them to release an egg, they don't even need to be in heat to get pregnant, although of course a cat that isn't in heat won't usually accept a male, not that they always have a choice.
3 months after whelping, your cat is more than capable of getting pregnant again, so BE CAREFUL. The kittens should be weaned by now - they may continue to suckle from the mother for comfort for an indeterminate length of time, but they don't need milk anymore. They should be independent on kitten food.
It's time to get your cat spayed, this needs to be done once the kittens are weaned, which they most certainly should be by now - another two months and it will be time for them to be spayed/castrated!!

They can go into heat while still nursing the previous litter- and if the male cats are calling she is in heat. Get her fixed- its not good for a cat to have kittens this close together.

When kittens are four weeks old a mother can go into heat again. So at 3 months she's definitely in heat. Get her spayed to relieve yourself and her of the symptons of being in season and having more kittens that you'll have to find homes for.

mmmm.....yeah...you need to get her fixed. It's an old wives tale that moms can't get pregnant when they are still nursing. I thought the same think with a stray that I had taken in. I think cats can have 3 or 4 litters a year. I believe before the vet will fix her she needs to have not nursed for about a week. Check with your local vet. Good Luck!

Yes, you need to get your cat fixed asap.
Wow, you really need to seperate mom and the kittens. It normally takes 5 days for her milk to dry up, but it is very unhealthy for the kittens to still be nursing!

She sounds just gorgeous! but yes, she can go into heat. I'd call the vet and have her fixed right away or you're going to have more kittens. That's pretty hard on her.

as everyone says, get her done.
I saw a chart which showed how many cats you can get from one female after a couple of years - hundreds!
Here in France some people give their cats a contraceptive pill every month instead of having the operation.
