Do your cats have their own beds? Toys? If they don't have toys, introduce them to some now before the move. Get catnip scented balls and toys and play with the kitties with the toys. Move the toys first so that the cats will find something familiar in their new home. You might also try rubbing the kitties with a blanket or towel or pillow case (something not too big) so that it picks up their own scent and move that to the new home too, before the kitties. Be sure to get some scratching posts, and if you can, get one of those tower style things that they can climb on. And I wonder if they would like one of those videos of fish or birds to watch on the TV once in a while. Use carriers when you move them so that they will be safe. I bet they will adjust quicker than you're expecting.

I know how hard this is. I had to do it several times. Get those cat window things that are like a bubble that you put in your window and they stick out side (enclosed obviously) This way your cat is inside, but it gets the feel of being outside. Also, get LOTS of toys and cat trees, you might also get them some catnip for a treat. Basically, your trying to occupy the cat. They will cry and howl at the beginning, but that shouldn't last too long. Good luck!

You should start keeping them in for longer periods of time now before you move. Each day keep them in a little longer. Make sure however, they don't start getting wise and wander off. At some point, keep them in the house longer than letting them out. You might also try keeping them in one room for a while each day for a spell. It will get them accustom to the smaller apartment.

They will probably be fine, but start letting them outside less often. And make sure to get plants and to leave the windows open-with a screen-so they can get fresh air!!

get a cat leash ( with a haulter) and take that cat for a walk, it will give your kitty a chance to still enjoy the outdoors.
