They look like little pieces of rice coming out of her behind. It's gross we've tried everything but they end up coming back. She is like one of the family an so i want to help her get well. I also use food that is supposed to help. She is an indoors only cat and never goes outside. She is also an only cat.

I already took her to the vet and got the deworming shots that is why i'm asking because they came back. She does get fleas because we live in an apartment complex. They frontline and advantage are what the vet recommended to combat the fleas which he said was the cause for the worms

There are no shots to prevent worms that I'm aware of. It is not vaccinations that your cat has had? i.e against cat flu, leukaemia etc?
You need to get dewormer from the vets - this will usually be a tablet but they also do pastes, suspensions and granules all for oral use. So you haven't tried everything - you haven't tried actual dewormer! Go back to the vets, they'll give you Drontal or Milbemax or the like.
Your cat has tapeworms by the way - although these are often transmitted by fleas, they can be caught by other ways. If she had tapeworms before you got her and she hasn't been dewormed yet then of course they will still be present.

EDIT: Also you need to deworm every 3 months to prevent worms reoccuring.

Sounds like segments of a tapeworm. How long ago did you last have her treated for tapeworms? The worms die over the period of days to a week or so, so what you are seeing may simply be pieces of dead tapeworm from a successful deworming.
Or even though you got her dewormed, either all the worm did not die, or she keeps getting reinfected via fleas.
Using flea medicine on her, as you have been doing, is very important.
All I can suggest is talking to your vet again about the situation. It sound like he has been doing everything right and so have you, yet she still has tapeworms. Maybe there is another medicatio n he can try.

Tapeworms. She needs to see the vet for the proper medication to be properly rid of those little pieces of "Rice".
My cat had em too. It took two vet treatments and then she was cured.
Perhaps someone might be unwittingly bringing fleas in from outside -- OR if you live in a house, you may have fleas coming into or somewhere in the house without realizing it. Mine came from a friend who brought some kittens with him - he assured me they had no fleas...not........! (He was nice enough to call me and say he had made a mistake--but by then I had already found out -- oops!!)
Get some diatomecious earth at the pet store or the vet's -- it comes in a sprinkle cannister -- it's safe -- you sprinkle it on the carpet (sparingly) and then wait a few minutes and then vacuuum it up. It dries out the fleas. I had to do that -- I live in an apt.

Well about a few years ago all three of my cats got worms, Yeah I know it is up there on the gross meter. Anyways, I took them to the vet and got them the shot. Well last month only one of them got worms. So I took him to the vet and this time they gave him a pill. And it seemed to work. What you might also want to try is cleaning your carpets too. If your cat has fleas or had them, they can be living in your carpet or where your kitty sleeps. So I recommend buying flea stuff to sprinkle on your carpets.

when your cat got her shots, did you talk to the vet about the worms? because the veterinarian should have given your cat some dewormer. advantage and frontline work for fleas and ticks, which are exterior parasites, they have nothing to do with the interior parasites like worms. I would recommend taking your cat back to the vet (with a stool sample) to get tested for worms, they will give you the best course of action to take...meaning deworming schedules, what kind of dewormer to use and how much.
good luck!

yes, the worms can be caught by swallowing fleas
worm prevention treatment is normally a pill to be taken every few months. (not a shot/injection)
if she has fleas and lives in the house you should spray the areas where she goes, rugs, bedding etc with stuff to kill the fleas eggs. Bayer do an aerosol for this. The spray is effective for six months.
If she does not go outside (imho) she should never get fleas.
good luck

The segments you are seeing are tapeworms. There is a de-wormer available from your vet for tapes. Schedule an appointment and take a fecal sample with you. Tapeworms can be contagious to other pets and humans.
