I bought some Frontline through an eBay seller and I can't find an expiration date. I've used the stuff for 2 months and it's not working. Also, the viles don't seem like they're as full as they should be.

How full are the viles supposed to be(my viles have about a half inch depth of liquid at the bottom of the vile; midway between the bottom and middle lines)?

There is usually some air in there- you may want to switch to Advantix or another product if it's not working, if it's worked in the past you may be being ripped off, I'd go ahead and get some from a vet or 1800petmeds.com (which is where I get mine.)

It's only supposed to be about 4 drops, so half full sounds about right. Frontline usually is pretty good, but it SHOULD have an expiration date on. If it's not working it may be way out of date--don't use it, it's pesticides and they can turn poisonous if too old.

Fleas take up to 3 days to die, in our area, after I treat with it, so it doesn't work in the 12 hours they say. But once the treatment is done I don't have to do it again for 2 1/2 months, that's how long it actually does work before fleas show up again. That way we only need to treat twice a summer here. I don't like to overmedicate with these things.

Actually, Advantage and Revolution work better, they have a different ingredient in them. We've tried all three over the years and if I had to pick one, I'd go with the Advantage.

I don't want to rule out the possibility that the e-Bay seller has ripped you off, but I will let you know that every time I've used Frontline, it hasn't worked. The fleas are still there. There is usually some air in the viles, but I would say that at least 75% of the main resivoir should be full of liquid. Just a suggestion- I would switch to Advantage or Advantix. Good luck!

They should be full up to the bottom of the neck.

If there is no expiration date on the box, chances are the stuff is counterfeit. Stop using it. A great deal of the flea medicine sold as Advantage, Advantix, Frontline and Sentinel online is counterfeit from China or India, even if the packaging looks identical to the real stuff bought from vets.

The AVHA had some of the online flea stuff analyzed and it turned out to be everything from plain water to sheep dip.

The only way to be sure you have the authentic stuff is to buy it from a vet. What they sell is guaranteed to work, and if it doesn't they'll replace it, and you can be sure it won't harm your pet.

I have heard of fake Frontline being sold on e-bay several times. Report the seller - I'm pretty sure you've been taken.

Go with Doctors Foster and Smith or another reputable site. The prices are good and you'll get the real thing.
