Hello,
My cat is 2 years old and Im in the process of getting her spayed. What is an average reasonable price to pay for a cat spay? Also, Ive been advised to take her to the animal shelter but I was told by my brother that at the shelters they dont use any anesthesia or pain meds. and the people that do it are school interns learning how to become a vet. and that they always mess up that they'll make me sign a waiver stating that they are not responsible if something happens to the cat. And also that if the procedure is not done right that the cat can get a hernia. How true is this?

with the aging process. He is an angora/persian mix. He has always been an outdoor/indoor cat. Last year I had to begin keeping him outside exclusively because he was using the bathroom everywhere. He never in all the 19 years went anywhere but his litter box. He has always been a well behaved, very smart cat.Well he is for the most part blind. This is a new occurance and I have talked to a vet about releasing him to kitty heaven. Yes I think they will be with us.My question is what is the best way to do this. I would like to stay with him and hold him in the transition. My heart is breaking to have to do this and I don't want him to have pain in his last moments with me. Can the vet give him a shot to sedate him before shaving his paw to start the i.v. I know it can be hard to get the vein sometimes. Please give me the experiences that you have had and a nice way to memorialize him. I'm going to bring him home to bury him. This really hurts.

It doesn't seem like the mama will care for it. One of the eye is shut close, seems like an infection. The other eye is very watery. I called Animal control, they said they would come within 4 hours. Its already 8PM and I doubt they will come... I will try tomorrow morning. So far, I used a dropper to feed it some water, and some milk. I'm not sure I should've given it milk. What can I do to help her in the meantime? She is very weak and meows a lot.

My cat is an indoor only pet. Is it likely that her itchy ear is caused by ear mites?? How would she have caught them?

My cat is 9 months old and just was neutered. Everything is normal but I have 2 questions. 1. Will his voice stay rhaspy like it's suddenly being? 2. Does the actual scrotum fall off now that it's had the testicle removed? I ask because they seem to be swollen still and sore to him.

My cat is an outdoor cat, she can also be an indoor cat (sleeping and resting, and eating inside) but she has a blast in the outdoors. I am her companion. I've had her for 6 years. And I wodner if she's replaced me with her mom because I got her a few weeks after she was born, since then she's always slept with me, and licks me alot. She's very happy. But we're moving to an apartment complex where she isn't allowed to got outside AT ALL. She's probably going to go stur crazy. How can I prevent this from happening? Should I get rid of her (but we love eachother!), or gradually make her get used to the indoors until we officially move in? Or what?? I'm worried about her!

My cat had an injury one it's paw that set up infection. We took her to the vet and the vet placed her on antibotics for 14 days and placed an Elizabethian collar on her so that she could not scratch. She also instructed us to lock her indoors until she is healed and the Elizabethian collar is taken off (our cat is an outdoor cat).
Well today she had her collar taken off and foot is all well.
Problem is when I saw the cat about 2 hours ago, she has scratched bloody sores all over her head and face. It is like her skin and hair is falling out where ever she scratches. She looks horrible.
I know she is happy to finally be back outdoors but what is happening to this cat.
Please don't say take her to the vet. I can't afford another visit right now, the last one cost me over 200 dollars and I wasn't in a position to pay that but I did.
I need to know what I can do for my cat now. Could it be the antibiotics?
Thanks and only nice sensible answers....please.

My bengal cat is 10 months old, and I just took her to get spayed. The vet did a blood test and said that there is something going on with her liver enzymes, and so they cannot spay her now.

Could something have caused these liver enzyme problems? Or could the liver enzyme problems have caused the following? She has cloudy eyes occasionally so she takes eye drops when that happens. she had to have de-worming medication because of roundworm at about 7 months. She also had leaking anal glands from the time we got her (6 months old)- 8 months old. But, the eye drops for her cloudy eyes seemed to solve it for some reason.

Or is it common in purebred Bengals to have different liver enzymes?

What could have caused my Bengal cat to have liver enzyme problems, therefore cannot be spayed?

I have posted on craigslist asking for one, and checked around a few places, but I can't seem to find one.

I'm not asking for one, I am just curious where I can find one.

I would pay an adoption fee or travel for one, I just can't seem to find one around here (Columbus, OH), and I was wondering if anyone knows where or how I could find one.

He has a cat scratching thing but he wont stop clawing at the door frames. This is a big problem because we live in a rental. I spray him with water when I catch him doing it, but that does not stop him. I also tried this stop scratching spay that leaves a biter taste in thier mouth when they lick there paws after scratching. What can I do? Besides getting him declawed.

My cat jumped up onto the dog kennel and got his leg stuck in one of the holes. He was hanging there screaming, and by the time I got to him he detached himself and ran and hid. It's been 3 days, he limps, and cries when you touch his leg or pick him up. He eats and used the potty normally. He seems to sleep a lot. I've tried using ice on it. And it doesn't seem to be swollen or hot. Today, he's been putting a small amount of pressure on it, otherwise he just hops around. Could it be sprained or fractured? Is there anything I can do for him at home that would help?

my friend and i went to feed my neighbor's cat while she was away, and its a black cat, and we heard it say "help me" over and over and then we pulled out my friends phone to record it and it stopped and then after we started the recording, it began to say my name over and over. and then as soon as it appeared in our sight it meowed like a normal cat. then we hear the garage door open so we hit to close it with the portable thing. later when we were going to leave, the garage door was open, and we shut it. is this paranormal or just our minds???

I have to cats that are under a year old. We waited to let them go outside just because we felt they were too young and may not learn about the dangers, well once we finally let them go outside they explored for a while but now they hate outside. I rather them be outside cats because they are going outside of the litter box and Im just so frustrated with them. How can I make them learn to go outside and not freak out. Or atleast to use the restroom outside. I have 2 older cats who like outside and do their business outside. Why are these 2 giving me such a hard time? Im fed up!
