Yes, your cat can spread the worms to any other animal it shares a litter box with. Isolate the animal until it can go to the vet or be de-wormed, especially if the worms are mature enough to be readily visible in the feces.

The only way you (or kids) can be infected is by playing in the litter box. Cleaning the box is not enough time. This only happens (mainly) when you have a toddler crawling around and putting EVERYTHING in their mouths.

Yes one cat can infest the other. When you have more than one cat and there are worms treat both. No you can't get worms from a cat. Don't wait to long to get to the vet, worms can make a cat very sick and can kill a kitten in a short amount of time. Most vets will sell you the worming pills without seeing the cat saving the cost of an office visit.

Yes. The other cat is very likely to get worms, and you also can if you're not careful.

Different species of worm are transmitted in different ways. Tapeworms are transmitted by fleas - they live in the flea, and when the flea bites, the worm egg goes into the animal through the blood and saliva. This is why you must use flea-prevention medicine as well as dewormer.

Some worm eggs can also be present on the coat of the animal, so they can be transmitted by mutual grooming.

Both your cats need to be wormed. It is very likely the other cat will catch the worms. You may not need to take the animals to the vet - just go there yourself, they can advise you on the correct stuff to buy.

You should be safe from the worms as long as you clear up the kittens poo and wash your hands properly afterwards - and don't kiss the kitten! If you're worried, human worming meds are available from pharmacists.

It is the litter box and believe me, the other one has them too now, so get them both treated at the same time and wash the bedding they sleep on and constantly clean that litter tray. If allowed outdoors, they will get reinfected from other animals even wild animals.
