I was just curious if it is ok to trim my cats whiskers; as they are pretty long. What will happen if I trim his whiskers? Will it hurt him? Is it ok?

I brought home a cat from my dad's garage. She looks pritty young i beleave she was dumped cause she was pregnent. She has done very well but only the mute kitten as one eye open. I'm afrad they may have a cold cause there eyes are guncked shut. I tryed wiping them with a soft wet, warm cloth but it didn't seem to help. They are now 11 days old and getting chunky (so cute). Because one is mute im worried about there site. If anyone has ideas on this let me know

I have three week old kittens and their eyes have been crusted shut since just after they were able to open them. two have one eye crusted one has both eye crusted.thats 3 out of 5. any suggestions?

ok my cat just gave birth to kittens on the 30 like 3 days ago she had six babies but they all started to die and now only 2 are left is this normal i mean 2 of them died when they were born and one died this morning he was looking week last night another kitten died because he wasn't drinking milk at all he was too weak so now olny two are left i'm worried for them how long is it before they will open thier eyes it has been three days since they were born i dont want the two other 2 die , the mother like gives them milk but sometimes she just walks away i dont what to do any help and do u know how long before they open thier eyes if they were born three days ago i'm so sad

I know it's the only thing to do, as there are so many cats that are abandoned, thrown out and killed every year, still the moral implications are really killing me.

What right have I got to mutilate him? There are far too many humans on the planet right now, still I don't see people being forced to chop their privates off.
Isn't it ethically wrong to impose this kind of life changing operation on a living being?

He's booked in for tomorrow and I'm scared he will hate me when he comes home, or that he won't be the same adorable guy he's always been...

I have a long-haired Maine Coon cat, and he has some major clumps of knotted fur. Knowing how picky cats can be when trying to cut fur, would it be best to simply shave him? Or perhaps take him to a groomer? I don't want him to look like a shaved poodle, but that might be the only way. Any suggestions would be very welcome!

Ok, i'm asking this question again because last time I didn't give enough information.
When my cat died he was panting and gasping for breath and he couldn't stand up. I think he was paralised. It all happened very suddenly within 10 to 30 minutes. I know it couldn't have been of old age because he was only 6 years old. It happened in my home in the very early hours of the morning. When it was happening I quickly called the vet and he said to come to the vet clinic. By the time I took my cat to the vet he was dead. Does anyone know what could have caused this? Please answer. I have had 2 cats (brother and sister, both fixed) for the last 4 years (since birth). They have always gotten along. They would play fight, but that's it.
On Wednesday of last week, we got my dads dog while they are away for a week. The cats have been around him before and didn't really pay much attention.
Yesterday, my female cat keeps attacking my male cat (he's always been the dominant one). We're talking full fledge cat fight. My male cat spent the majority of yesterday in the ceiling of my basement and wouldn't come down. He came out last night before bed, and sassy went after him again! We locked Sassy in the basement for the night and took her out again and put her near him and she started hissing again.
She has scared the crap out of thunder to the point where when he saw her this morning (even though we were holding her) he ran under the spare bed and peed. Same with last night, as soon as he saw her, he got scared and peed all over the bathroom (the litter box is

Is there any way to home cook a good cat food? I have 7 cats, 5 of my own and 2 belong to my adult son who is living with us. The animals are members of my family and we want to provide the best and not have to worry whether they will die from some commercial pet food on the market. I know that cats need taurine. I am going to try study on what is essential in a feline diet and try to cook a healthy food at home for them. to let a cat play with live mice? okay let me explain the situation and then make a few points before you answer.

i bought 2 fancy mice, and my kitty loves to chase them around the room.... he's never hurt them.. and he wouldn't.. he's front declawed... he doesn't bite.. he picks them up in his mouth ever so gently to carry them, but thats it...

1. its okay to feed your pet snake and frogs live mice.. or dead mice.... that have been made "dead" for the purpose of killing. but how is it any different to let a live mouse run around your snake's cage before being eaten?

2. the cat is gentle, doesn't bite them, and is front declawed.

3. the cat likes to play with toy mice, and he sees these mice as "toys" just the same as his toys

4. the mice do fine.. one tries to hide under the cat, and the other one stands on his back paws and smacks the cat back, and squeaks to scare the poo out of the kitty..

what do you think... cruel? or not cruel?
