My 8 week old kitten has a biting problem, she likes to bite my face and ears (she doesn't bother my feet or hands). When she is biting she is usually purring and kneading me with her paws. I don't want to stop her from seeking affection from me but the biting has to stop! Any suggestions? I've tried telling her no and moving her away from me but that has had no success.

I'm really paranoid about the recent pet food scare and I thought to feed my cat potted meat until the whole thing is long over. Can cats eat human potted meat or meat products? Is there any ingredient in them that might be harmful to him? I also feed him dry food, but he whines and misses his moist food.

Area will be wet where she has been lying but it is not urine so I am assuming that it is saliva from her washing.

As you probably know, trying to give cats tablets is notoriously hard, and after several attempts I was beginning to look like a self-harmer.

As such, I have since been crushing them and putting in their food. Do you know if this is as effective? The tablets were antibiotics, but now I need to give them worming tablets too and was wondering if it's okay to do it this way?

Can you imagine a domesticated cat hunting a cow or sheep in nature?

It would also be difficult for cats to catch tuna in the wild as they swim in the Pacific Ocean even though it is a popular fish cat food.

My female cat had 4 kittens 6 weeks ago. We are keeping on of the females but their is one male kitten I am just in love with. I have never had a male cat before because I don't want to risk the chance of them spraying. What are the chances that he would start spraying when he gets older? Yes all of them are going to get fixed. I have someone that is interested in taking him but when I think about it I just start to cry. I don't know what to do but I don't want to take a chance of him spraying one day.

I am looking for a qualified veterinarian who is more interested in the quality of life for my cats than the quantity in his/her bank account. Since declawing is a horrendously cruel act done only for uninformed pet owners and fast money for the vet, I would like to find a vet who refuses to declaw. I want the health and comfort of my cats to come first. If you have a website with a list of such veterinarians, I would really appreciate it. The last vet I went to had just spayed a cat and performed 10 amputations on that poor cat at the same time - the cat had come back due to infections and not healing from this horrible trauma. I asked the pet owner why he would do such a thing, and he said it was either declaw or get rid of the cat - so why didn't he give the cat to a shelter where she could find a person to love her? The poor cat couldn't even stand up. I never want to witness such cruelty again on a visit to a vet.

my cat is the most loving creature i have ever known but she does have some quirky ways, does anybody know why she does these things:- if we put biscuits out for her, in her dish she sometimes scrapes them out? if we leave bits of paper about(old lottery tickets etc.) once we are in bed and turn the light out she makes a funny noise and brings these papers up, sometimes they are quite heavy like letters we have had delivered that day. It doesn't matter where we put them, she will find them and bring them up. What do you think?

My cat is a neuterd male, 1.5 years old. I have had him since he was 6 weeks old and have never heard him purr. He is usually a moody cat but sometimes he will be real nice and try to cuddle me, even then I love on him and try to be really super nice but he still won't purr. What is wrong with him?

My male cat is about 2 years old, and since he got neutered his skin on his underside hangs low. I wouldn't say its his stomach because its not a fat bulge its more or less just skin. Can anyone tell me if this is normal?

I saw the news for tonight and they said that there is a first class action law suit against Menufoods and there is 2,000 people involved in this suit and they also said that menufoods knew about this for a month before they said anything and they are going to go after Menufoods for fraud.

I've heard your not supposed to clip a cat's nails with a normal nail clipper. So what am I supposed to do when their nails are long and sharp?

We already have a 1 1/2 year old girl cat who is fixed. We are getting a 7 week old boy kitten on Friday. When is it okay to get him fixed? When do boy cats start spraying? A friend told me that boy cats can get something like crystals from getting fixed too early. I'm not sure what she was really talking about. Do you?

Noticed my cat (1yr old) had a cut on one of his claws. Went to touch it to check out and he hissed and scrabbed me. He is now off his food and can not mieow properly. Any ideas what can be wrong? Not to mention he is a tom and so is his father whom I also own along with his mother and brother.

Everyone else I know, their cat makes meow sounds, but mine whines. He whines when he want's something, doesn't want something, or when he's not comfortable. Do other cats whine too?

I visited my Dad & was appalled to see his neighbour's cat who has many clumps of matted fur on her back. She's a black medium length coat cat appx 18 yrs old. Neighbour claims she's taken the cat to the vet but that the vet said it was mange and the cat needs her fur clipped but is too old to undergo the anaesthetic that would be needed to do this. I have severe doubts that the cat ever saw a vet & something about this doesn't ring true - from what I've seen on the web, mange usually causes itching and hairloss, neither of which this cat has. To me she just looks like she needs a good grooming and her hair clipped professionally.
The cat in general is poorly treated in my opinion. She's never allowed into the house except to eat and is left outside in all weathers. I had concerns about this cat previously but on seeing her tonight I am seriously considering making a formal report to the SSPCA. Any experts out there that can advise as to whether this does sound like mange?

My cat has been vomiting for about three days now. She eats purina naturals wich is not part of the pet food recal. She has been throwing up for about 3 days. We tried to take her to the vet but she flips out when tried to be put into a cage to take her. She was a stray before we got her and PETRAFIED of anyone and anything she is not used to. She is about 15 years old now. Just trying to put her into the car or into a box to get her into the vets sends her into a fit. We are affraid she will have a heart attack just geting her to the vet.
