I do alot of animal work and know quite a lot about them but needed more help right now!

I have a 3 yr old neutered male cat, and we recently got a black kitten about 6 months old, also neutered. They love eachother and really get along well. They get plenty of food and water and toys and love. They are indoor kitties, as we live near a busy street and there are also coyotes in the area.
But lately hes been crying non stop! At our old house he used to be able to be in the yard while I watched ( so he wouldnt escape) but cant at this new house.
He sits at the door and cries for hours. I try to distract him with something else but it doesnt help. And now, at night he just wanders around 'meow meow meow meow meow meow meow meow' and its starting to drive us mad!!
What can I do to figure out his crying? Or to stop it?

I'm not sure if he's a boy or a girl yet, cause he's less than a day old. But he's calico, and has a really cute stripe down his head and back. I like names that are different and aren't really people names, and I also like names that don't have a gender attached to them. I love putting Mr. before a name, even if it's a girl. but I'll take whatever, and whichever name I choose gets the 10 points!

I feed my 2 cats dry food most the time and brush them as often as I can but there's still fur all over the place. If someone can justify canned cat food (like a vet) then I'll go that way.

I'm really worried about my cat, She is 17 years old and today upon inspecting her teeth because her breath has smelt foul of late I have found a large amount of plaque build up on her back teeth, I have gently tried to remove this myself with a baby toothbrush and so far only a minimal amount has been removed. I need to take her to the vet and I will soon make an appointment. I'm scared that she may need anesthesia to have the plaque removed and as she is old I'm really frightened she might die from complications...

What are the risks with anesthesia in animals and what happens if she has peridontal disease?

Okay, I think my cat is crazy. I feel I give it adequate attention (lots), but it STILL wants more attention. It wants attention ALL of the time, and she cries when I don't give her 100% of my attention. It's hard for me to get work done when she's around because she cries and starts to knock things off desks, endtables, and even tries to tear down some posters on my walls... what is her deal? When I "punish" her for being bad, she just jumps right back and starts in at what she was doing again (the bad things). It's getting really annoying. Any thoughts?

I just got my 2 kittens declawed and all they keep doing is licking and chewing on their sutures. The cones don't work and neither does the bitter apple spray the vet recommended. They keep making their toes bleed and I don't want them to pull out their sutures. I'm at the end of my rope. What can I do to protect their feet?

I only feed my cat Science Diet dry food, and I buy him different types, like the Hairball Formula or the Ocean Fish flavor, etc. I know Menu Foods has recalled Science Diet Feline Savory Cuts Cans; has there been a recall of any other cat food under the Science Diet brand? Their site doesn't say so...Maybe you know?

My cat, who I've raised since birth, turn six years old this June, and when we went to the vets last week, we got the news that no pet owner wants to hear. "Your cat has FIV."

Now, they did give us some information, but not much. Does anyone know what the stages of FIV are? Also, is there anyway to fight back against it to help my cat live longer and be healthier?

Only serious answers please.

I live in Canada and there is great interest here in banning plastic shopping bags, which is ok, however, those bags are what I use to clean my cat's litter box and what dog owners use to clean up after their dogs.
So, what is the alternative that Europeans are using?
We can't very well switch to cat litter that can be flushed because that will eventually destroy the septic system.
Any Europeans out there who would like to respond to this query?

I find it so funny that some people say a man with a cat is gay. Have you heard this before? I have heard it from different sources and different ages. It just sounds so silly. I'm a cat person. I'm a guy. I'm not gay. Yet I have come across people that think I'm gay because I own a cat. My cat is a male and he is getting quite upset with all this gay talk. He wants everyone to know that he is strait.

I'm not here to try and prove to people I'm strait thats not my point. I'm seriously trying to find out where this silly idea comes from? What are the reasons behind thinking someone is gay because he owns a cat?

Be fun with your answers I want anything you can think of!

My college apartment is about 3 hours away from my home town so I travel back a lot and usually take my cat with me. Im traveling to California on thursday for the Easter weekend to visit my mother and I can't travel with her because I don't want her to be uncomfortable on the flight for that long. Is it okay to leave her at my place with automatic feeders or will she go crazy from lonliness? I can't take her to a kennel because there's not any in the area.

She still comes in and jumps on the lizard cage and annoys my Chinese water dragon. What can i do to make her stop. I keep spraying her with a pressurized spay bottle but she still does it. Has been going like this for 4 months . She is starting to annoy me and I am going to beat her if I dont find a solution. My dragon is very peaceful and doesnt bother her. Should i let them go at it once and for all or get rid of the cat?
