Good question. Friskies made by Purina, the same company that originally "for some reason" was not on the original recall list, that came out FOURTEEN days after the intial recall? And many retailers still have ALPO Cuts and Gravy still on their shelves, stating they were not aware of Purina's Alpo recall?

Is it ok? That's a risk you need to weigh with the evidence we have so far, and with the credibility these companies have sold out over the past few months.

I will tell you I had fed my three cats Friskies and I lost two in a matter of months to kidney failure and another one on his way out at the moment.

Personally, I would not buy Purina or ANY brand product that contains wheat gluten, and resent the fact it was ever in there. Wheat gluten is not simply a filler or "protein" as they claim, it also stimulates the appetite much like home baked bread or most wheat-containing comfort foods does to humans. With meat and fish, what would the need be for wheat gluten, when right on the FDA site it details how bread can be detrimental to dogs?

They've been chastising us for our diets, and our overweight society, and now they're chastising us for our overweight pets as well - while they pump this garbage into them to plump them up for more sales, more revenue, but less of a lifespan.

You do what your heart tells you to do since there currently is NO reliable or credible information coming from our governing body, but the only one's I'd feed it to are the ones who knew and still know about the deaths and tainted products but refused to inform consumers.

Purina waited too long to come out of the closet, and for this I will not forgive them for.

Yes. Friskies by Purina has not been implicated in te recall. I have fed my cats Friskies when I first heard of the recall and checked the list of tainted food. Friskies so far is safe. But many of the Friskies flavors use wheat gluten - the suspect ingredient in all the tained wet food. So... maybe your should think about that. On the other hand, hey, I just gave one of my cats Friskies "Shredded Turkey with Egg" last night becuase he was being 'ornary' about his bowl of Natural Balance. Silly kitty. He was up and chasing birds in the garden this morning and napping now.

Friskies isn't on the recall list, but it's not great food. It's better than dry food, though!

Check out the foods in the link below. They're all very good quality. And only available at pet supply stores.

It's not on the recall list as far as I know. I work at a shelter and we get lots of canned Friskies donated to us and the cats like it, but it's not the highest quality cat food in the world. It's got a lot of filler and the color of that stuff is totally artificial.

God only knows. I was feeding my cat Friskies and Fancy Feast and she was diagnosed with kidney disease 3 weeks ago. Coincidence? I'm not too sure because the list of recalled foods keeps getting bigger and bigger. You may want to think about getting food from your vet. It costs more but may be the safest thing to do until this whole thing gets straightened out. Everything I've seen on television is saying that it's not the best idea to feed homemade foods because it lacks the nutrition that our "friends" need. Good Luck

Friskies is not on the recall list right now, but it is a very low quality food. Instead, head to petsmart and check out blue buffalo or to petco and look at natural balance. http://www.naturalbalanceinc.com

Instead of being full of low quality ingredients and fillers, these products are human grade and have no fillers. MUCH better for fluffy. : )

Yes. My dad has two cats, and he feeds them Friskies every morning and evening. It is not a part any recall.

I agree with Bozema!
Until the recall is over, I'm sticking to dry food for my lil' buddy!
