I just got my 2 kittens declawed and all they keep doing is licking and chewing on their sutures. The cones don't work and neither does the bitter apple spray the vet recommended. They keep making their toes bleed and I don't want them to pull out their sutures. I'm at the end of my rope. What can I do to protect their feet?

It's sad you didn't ask before you had your kittens declawed, there are lots of complications and it's truly not necessary; here in Europe it's illegal, all our cats have their claws, we have lots of nice furniture, lots of small children and we're doing fine. But what's done is done. Try the socks or there is a self-sticking pet bandage called Vet Wrap that is very easy to use; I'd try these in combination with the bitter apple spray or they'll just tear it off too.

Next time have cats declawed by laser surgery. They heal a lot faster and no sutures. I couldn't believe the difference in the healing time.

I have heard of people using baby socks to slow the kittens down. But honestly instinct will make them determined to overcome any obstacle you place infront of them.
