She (?) is tiny. eyes are closed with a dried umbilical cord. She can make a few sounds. I am trying to feed her MRL or MLR, whatever, but isn't suckling too much. I am squirting in her mouth, then she swallows, so on. I don't know how much she should be suckling at this age, ie days old. she is also very explorative, wriggly. Vet s closed, called another vet, and was told to feed the milk, not much else help. I have also stimulated her "bits" so she has peed. any other help

I have a three year old male cat and i've had him for around two years now. We got him from a cat sanctuary. He does that thing that kittens do, where he paws the cushion. He's meant to stop when he becomes an adult...and he hasn't. He is also really scared of a lot of things, he's not very active [although a lot of cats aren't], he doesn't chase birds, etc. What's wrong with him?...and is there a way i can help him get more confident and..well...manly? thanks loads xxx

I had one that used to sleep on top of a chain link fence inside the honeysuckle that grew on it. When you walked by a head would pop out from the bushes on top of the fence. Pretty soon 4 heads would pop out....he got the others to sleep there too. They would climb the chain link like a mountain climber-one paw in each link until they got to the top...copying him of course. Cat are also a great source of amusement!

my boyfriend a i have been together for 4 years, in that time, we adopted 2 cats from a local animal rescue-shelter. times change, and i am seriously considering moving from Rochester, NY to southern New Mexico, but i don't want to leave my 2 cats. when we signed the adoption agreement, i co-signed as well, he tells me theres no "legal" basis for me to take the cats, is that true? i mean, it seems odd i'm asking about Cat Custody, and not Child Custody. Thank You

Can I use Frontline for Dogs on my cats? I see there is less of one active ingredient in the dog formulation. Does it matter?

I really really want to buy a kitty, but I'm scared when I think that it'll die someday n I know cats don't have a long life like us humans. I've been takin care of stray cats now n then. but i really want one. Don't know what to do. My friends say they were really depressed when they lost their pet which makes me even more scared to get one.

My cat is itchy. Ever since I got her spayed, she's been pulling her hair out, scratching, crying, she has dandruff and red, juicy patches on her skin that smell funny. I've brought her to 3 vets and they have no answers. She doesn't have fleas or mites. I've changed her food twice. She's been on 3 different kinds of allergy medicine and diet food. It makes me so sad to see her suffer, but I'm tired of wasting $300 for the vet to give me something else that doesn't work. Does anyone have any idea what I can do for her?

I have just moved in with my boyfriend and brought my cat with me. She is in the process of shredding his leather loveseat and I just don't know what to do to prevent her from doing this. She never clawed anything up before this. Help!

And yes, we do have a water spray bottle to use if we catch her in the act, but often we don't, especially since we both work all day. And when I take her Thursday for her rabies shot, we will schedule her to get declawed...I've already talked with the vet briefly about doing this, before moving in.

My husband and I had some friends over this weekend, and we were playing with our cat as usual, which includes smacking his buttocks.

Our cat really loves it, it makes him purr and be really affectionate.

Two worries:

1) Does this mean that we are into some form of S & M beastalty?

2) Are we causing him any physical problems, such as possibly inducing arthritis at an earlier age?

Our guests really couldn't believe how hard we smack him, and we tried to get them to smack him the same way, but the couldn't bring themselves to do it.

Our Scottish Fold female kitten (now @ 8 mos. old) has been a quite concerning firstly in her earlier times she weed and pooed on our beds and sofas. Thankfully that has stopped. Now she takes to our roof top potted plants and lies and sleeps in the dirt, even in the pouring rains any suggestions to stop her from this are appreciated.

Got my kitten spayed Friday. She is 6 months old--our vet won't spay any earlier. How long does it take to recover? The vet kept her overnight. I picked her up the next morning.
She slept all day when I picked her up Saturday, and is still laying around. She seems to be eating and drinking ok. Not as much her usual though. She seems to be kind of upset and not wanting to be very social and basically hiding from us. She only comes out to eat. How long will it be before she is back to her usual sunny self?
