Ok, my cat has been acting as if she is going in and out of heat for 2 months now. She'll act like she is for a few days then be normal for a day or two and go back in. Also, she has been loosing weight and we just noticed yesterday shes starting to loose her hair. does anyone know what this could be?

He's a big ol' tom cat aptly named 'Starvin' Marvin' - can't lock him in the bathroom (he'll cry all night), but if I leave him to his own devices he'll leave early in the am. I've seen supplements at the pet stores that are supposed to calm animals for things like plane travel - would those help?

I have 2 cats that were brought up inside since they were born but as they got older they started to want to go outside. so i let them be and they come inside to sleep at night. one of them is getting sick i believe or has caught a feline disease..we have a few "stays" that are always around outside and i want to know if anyone know if these symptoms are related to anything or maybe just a common cold?? One of his eyes is watering pretty bad..i will wipe if off but it almost instantly watered up again. He is sneezing a whole lot and one of the strays kinda did that stuff too....hes eating and drinking like normal but he just looks like hes feeling crappy. do you think this might just be a cold or could it be like feline distemper or luekemia?? thanks

My cats both are shedding more now that spring is coming and I try to sit and brush them daily. One likes it and the other hates being brushed, but I do it anyway. I use a flea comb that seems to get alot of hair, when I use a slicker brush it just makes the hair go flying around the room. I am looking for something that will help the most and be comfortable for my Cats. What do you use? Could you please find a picture or be descriptive in your answer so that I can know what to buy? Thanks for your help!

We just lost a two year old female to liver failure over the weekend , the vet said this was unheard of in a cat this old , we were lucky that her kittens were old enougth to wean . When she gave birth we was feeding her Nutra kitten food in the soft pac's because she liked it and it got her to eat but we found out latter that this was one of the foods that was on recall , we still have a couple left for proof if needed .

She's driving me crazy! She's been at it for over 2 weeks now! It's never been that long. She's urinating in almost every corner of the house. What can I do to calm her down except medication and putting her to sleep ( as some of you smartasses would answer )

Last night at about 10pm, my husband and I noticed that our cat was having trouble breathing. I called my veterinarian on the emergency line that he provides, the vet told me to bring my cat in this morning to see what was going on. My husband and I convinced ourselves that it was just an infection of sorts that could be treated. The vet tested my cat for feline leukemia and it came back positive. I had the choice of taking him back here and letting him suffer, or putting him down. I had to put him down, I can't be selfish and let him suffer so I didn't have to deal with the loss.. its been about an hour and I can't stop crying.... one of my friends told me it was just a cat... I feel so stupid for crying but I just can't stop.... am I just over reacting?

I have a calico cat who is almost 2 years old. I took her to the vet when I first got her at age 8 weeks without any serious problems. She didn't like it, but most cats don't. She was spayed and the vet commented that she was a little aggressive. I attempted to take her to the vet shortly after she turned a year old. The vet could not handle her at all. It got to the point where my cat was hissing/"growling" and trying to scratch and bite the vet, her assistant and ME! The vet prescribed xanax for my kitty and I made another appointment. I could not get her to take the pill, even when I crushed it up and put in on tuna and canned cat food. She is really the calmest, sweetest cat at home and she is very friendly to everyone that comes into my house. I'm expecting a baby in August and I would really feel better if my cat were up to date on her shots. She doesn't go outside (ever) but I want to be safe. Are there vets that make house calls for cats? And how do I find one?

My 7-year-old cat has a stuffed animal fetish. I don't mean that he enjoys playing or cuddling with stuffed animals; I mean that he has full-blown sexual relationships with them. It started with an innocent fling with a crochet Afghan, and has now evolved into daily 'activities' with stuffed bunnies and tigers. I'll often return home to see him run out of the bedroom and hide (in shame?). He was neutered when he was 6 months old, so I can't imagine how he keeps such an active sex drive (unless he's obtaining some sort of kitty Viagra that I'm unaware of).

Note: While I've presented this question in a somewhat goofy manor (that's my coping mechanism, thanks), I'm quite serious. Should I be concerned here?

We have 2 cats, and we have to lock them up because the one will chew on my wife's hair at night. I get that it may be a grooming thing, but it's not cute at 3 am every night. I don't want to lock them up, so how can I get him to stop? He also paws the side of the bed repeatedly (so much it wakes us up), even though he has a full bowl of food downstairs.

I need help getting rid of the awful smell of cat urine fast. I'm having my in-laws over this weekend and my female cat has desided to use my carpet as her bathroom, the litters boxes are clean, I clean them every other day. Is there any one that can tell me what to do. I plan on getting my carpets cleaned by a pro when the weather gets nicer so I just need something to help remove the odor now. PLEASE HELP

I have a 5-year old cat. She's an indoor-outdoor cat, and since we've trained her well has the sense to not go anywhere outside our small garden (not even our back porch), but her last house had a far large garden to run in, and I'd like to take her for walks. She's never had anything but her collar around her, how do I get her used to a halter for walking?
I'm wanting to teach her that when we go walking, is when we walk a certain route, and only then, she's good as gold about any training, or is she too old to start it now? We're getting another kitten soon and I' like to train the newbie too.
Any good site, tips, advice?

My cat is so tame that when you hold it, sometimes it seems like its dead! It is almost like it can think like a human. Like, when you walk into another room it will follow you and look at you in a soo cute way? It's an odd cat and i don't know why or how it turned out that way....
Maybe it has some kind of special genetics or something.
