First for the cat.....go to walmart or a petstore....get Flea
Shampoo for cats. Cats don't like baths and it is usually a 2 person job to bathe one. Especially if its not declawed.
After bath put on a flea collar also from the pet store or walmart.
Get some brewers yeast and put it in the cats food every day.
Plain brewer's yeast only. Garlic and onion is toxic to cats.

For the house. Wash all curtains, sheets, blankets, towels etc with HOT water and soap on long cycle.
Shampoo all carpets with FLEA SHAMPOO FOR DOGS AND CATS and a carpet shampooer.
Also shampoo the couch and any uphostered chairs in this manner.
Spray Raid for fleas and ticks along baseboards and around appliances.
Get granule bug killer for lawns and treat the whole front and back yard and around the outside of the house.
That should take care of problem.

my grandfather got rid of his cat's fleas with bug spray... after the fleas we're gone he continued to use the spray every time his cat did anything wrong like climbing on the table :)) the cat really hated that spray... it didn't get sick from the spray... (it's not powerful enough to harm a large animal) but u could go to the vet for some anti parasite medicine:D or take the cat a bath.... or more baths because the fleas prefer to stay on an animal then on a human so they'll jump back on the cat from everywhere in the house or from your coworker.good luck!

Yes - Frontline. Or Revolution/Stronghold, or Advantage.

Anything from the vets really, petshop stuff is worthless.

Treat the cat regularly with one of these sprays or spot-ons, and vacuum the house, spray it with a veterinary spray (including sofas and pet bedding) and vacuum again/wash the pet bedding. Treat the cat every 4-6 weeks, and the house every 6 months to remain flea-free. Sorted.

If she is fostering for cats protection they will provide her with flea drops. Sometimes if it is a bad case then she will need to take the cat to the vet for an all over spray.

Fleas are a major pest. There are various species of fleas - cat fleas, dog fleas, rat fleas and rabbit fleas.
You can get rid of them by the safest and cheapest methods like boric acid.

an organic way is to mix fresh garlic juice with a drip of peppermint oil and wash the kitty with this. then wash with your ordinary kitty shampoo. the garlic will leave a tiny smell but to avoid this rinse really really really well. or you can use what the vet has.
