For at least three days now she has been going under the couch and thats where i'll find her in the morning, she's fixed but acting very strange. She's not eating the food thats on recall not that i know of cause i'm feeding her whiskas. Dismorning though i had to drag her out from under the couch myself, and when i got her out from under th couch she had these shivers. What does it mean when a cat shivers??? Is there something wrong with her??? She keeps on watching my boyfriends so i feel like he probably got mad at her when i wasn't around yesturday. Please help me find out whats wrong with my cat???

An animal that hides could be telling you that there is something wrong with them, especially if it is out of the norm. A cat will shiver and tremble when they are in extreme pain.

You know your animal the best. If you feel that there is something wrong or that she's acting strange, it can't hurt to bring her in to the vet just to make sure. I would do that asap.

My first thought was that she's obviously ill and therefore needs to see a vet. However if she's hiding, shivering and is keeping an eye on your boyfriend - I would be suspicious. Are you able to ask him about this?

If I found out anyone has hurt an animal of mine - or any animal - I'd tear them apart, but that's just my personal opinion. If you don't feel able to talk to your boyfriend, you could take her to the vet - if they give her a clean bill of health you definitely know something's wrong.

Is kitty eating properly? Peeing and pooing normally? If she's not doing one or all of these things properly, she could be ill.

Let us know what happens, sounds like a difficult situation you've got there either way.

For the record, the recalled food (not Whiskas) caused kidney failure - signs of which are drinking and peeing excessively, followed by vomiting and lethargy.

Sounds like something may have happened with your boyfriend and the cat yesterday.

I'd seriously have a conversation with him in order to try to find out if anything happened.

I would call the vet, explain the situation and ask for advice.

If your boyfriend DID do something to the cat - seriously ditch him. It's been proven that people who are violent towards animals eventually become violent towards people to.

OK....TAKE ME VERY SERIOUSLY!!! PLEASE! I am a cat lover and those are signs that your cat is being abused... something is happening to your cat when you are not around...the cat is afraid!!! please don't allow your cat around that guy!!! until you find out whats wrong. Don't ask him about it because he will not admit it.....I've seen this before. I have seen very nice people be completely cruel to cats... for no reason at all.... I'M me for more information.....I really want to help your cat......PM me.... your cat is completely helpless and relies on you to protect her like a child. But the cat cannot talk all it can do is hide and hope it will not get hurt again. Please.... find a safe place for your cat when you are not around her.....do not take any chances. Put your self in the cats position

Is your boyfriend a "new" member of the household to her? He could have done something to scare her & she's just hiding. Also, is she eating, drinking, & using the litter box normally? Cats will "tell" you something is wrong by acting strangly, this is the only way they have of communicating. IF everything is OK w/the boyfriend & her daily habits, please take her to a Vet. Something is wrong. I know this from experience.

I would call a local vet and ask what they think. I do no know what would cause this. Is the food you are feeding wet? If it is, it could still be the food. It may have just not made it to the recall list yet.

Sounds like she's scared shi*less - the shivers are a sign of terror not just nerves.
If nothing else has gone on then it sounds like your boyfriend has done something. Beware: if he has no respect for animals then he'll have little respect for you.

Sounds like she might be sick or is scared. I'd take it to the vet just to make sure. If your cat is sick, it only takes hours or a day or two before your cat is so sick that it has to be put to sleep.

Sounds like you should be asking your boyfriend what he did to the cat... maybe he's one of those that just doesn't know how to treat animals???

i think u need to take her to the vet. when once i took my cat to the vet and she got her shots, when i got home she ws shaking... i called and took her back, she had a allergic reaction.
if u take her and its nothing, then u need to talk to ur man and find out what the hell he is doing to her.
