Yes, if they are out a lot :). If they stretch out/lie down in the sun then it's very likely that they can get sunburn on their ears (possibly in other places where there is not that much fur). Just make sure your cat doesnt stay out for long periods of time or keep him/her active for longer. Just in case you cat gets skin cancer :)...
If I see a cat strolling around with sun cream on their ears then I'll know you're near :P

Wow!
I have never seen so many correct answers to a question.
We have a white cat (Not albino)
Our vet advised us to put sun block on ears and nose
By the way horses can get sunburn on white patches.especially where skin shows pink through the hair. Noses lips etc same answer sunblock

I've never heard of an animal getting sunburned on their back or anything, but my dad's friend's cat once got sunburned on her ear. Maybe cause there isn't that much fur on her ears

Yep Noses are a prime area and as some one else has already stated, some lighter coloured cats ie white, are susceptible to sunburn, you can actually put sun cream on the cat( vet advised my mother to)

I know Albino cats can be susceptible to sunburn on their ears. I don't think most cats have a problem, they'll just find some shade to sleep in when they get too hot.

yes cats can get sunburn, the lighter their fur the higher the chance, especially ears and noses! young cats may need sunblock but mature cats tend to be sensible enough to move out of the sun before they burn x

yes cats can get sunburn on their lips ears and other places depending on what type of cat it is and the colour of the cat. a whits cat can get sunburn reasonably easily but a sphinx if you know what it is can get sun burnt really easily and you have to be very very careful if you have one.

yes if they have white ears then you should put sun block on. Cats with white ears often get cancer from sunburn and then thier ears have to be removed.

I have a tabby cat with very fine fur on his ears and on his left ear he has a mole we have to watch in case it turns cancerous. Ever tried putting sun-block on your cat? I don't recommend it and neither would he
