Sometimes sudden move when excite them and they take off. I had a cat that jumped every time you moved your foot. I have an 11 year old, 25lb, Rag Doll, Stinky, and for now reason her will start to chatter and boom he's off and running. I have seen this cat do this for about 15 minutes and then he's quite. He just wants to play or he is burning energy. Just give him a little more lap time. This may clam him down. Try have 5 or 6 of them all running after each other. They come out of the kitchen over the couch, behind the couch, around the living room, under the bed and over the bed. Three or 4 time. Maybe he lonely and wants to play Good luck.

Hello - Cats are natural predators, the best besides humans. He's playing and want you play as well. Hunt and be hunted or hide and seek as it were. Also, he is honing his skills. I used to spar with my old male cat but I never hurt him. Just light tagging with my left and right hands held just outside his peripheal vision. Tapping on the top of his head and to the left and right.
He hated it when I touched his nose though.
Play with him but be careful of the claws, they (cats) really can't help but use them if they have to.
Catnip is always good.

Has he been fixed?
I know our cats all calmed way down once they were fixed, which is the smart thing to do, anyway.
Otherwise, you just have a playful cat. Is it harmful to anyone? If not, who cares--he's a carefree cat, be more like him.
If he's hurting people--talk to your vet. But I don't think it's a problem. Claws? Declaw that little fur-ball of sweetness.
If you haven't had him fixed, *snip*snip*, then get him fixed. That will definately calm him down.

Alright, the last thing you want to do is stroke it. If you have a backyard, let your cat run and play like crazy. Do this daily and try to get another cat so they could play together.

It's just the kitten in him. He will calm down eventually. Meanwhile, watch your step!

well do you give him catnip or toys with catnip in it?if so that could be one of the reasons cause catnip makes them hyper.Or it might just be his natural instinct they like to hunt mice so he might just want to play i don't think there is a way to calm him down cause i tried everything with my two cats

My cat goes nuts like this every now and then. I don't think you can do anything about it. It's just crazy cat behavior :-)
