My cat's front paw got wounded by another cat (it's a puncture wound). It was bleeding on and off so we took her to the vet--they diagnozed infection and we gave her antibiotic for it. Sometime later, the same paw started bleeding again and we took the cat to the vets again. This time, they said there was no infection and told us to put Neosporin (antibiotic ointment) on the wound spot. We do that and the spot still looks kind of raw. Not bleeding actively but doesn't seem to be healing completely either.

Does anyone have suggestions or a similar experience? Thank you!

There is this cat that has been hanging out on our back porch for like a week, I opened the door and he ran inside, now he wont leave haha. He was growling at me and swating at me but now he seems ok hes letting me pet him. He has no collar and wont eat cat food but he will eat ham. Do you think hes a stray? Should take him to the shelter or just try put him back outside?

On March 2 my 7.5 year old cat had exploratory surgery to determine the cause of her vomiting and occasional diarrhea. It turned out she has Inflammatory Bowel Disease. She is now on a strict diet of Venison and green pea canned cat food only (which is not on the recall list, thank goodness). However, last week she had a second surgery b/c there was a large golfball sized lump on her belly. Turned out it was a hernia, most likely caused by the last surgery. So last Wednesday, she had it fixed.... NOW, 8 days later, the lump is there... still. Only this time it feels harder. Two days after surgery she did try jumping on the table, and fell, and I know that was not good.

The vet said it was a seroma. BUT, I have this bad feeling it is another hernia. It does not hurt her.... at least it does not seem to. Apparently a seroma is liquid filled and this feels hard... does anyone have input??

I have 4 cats in MY house just because my little brother and sisters wanted them so much. I find them highly annoying. I think I'm about to open the door and let them go. Of course, I get in trouble for this but is it worth it?

My cat is a female cat, roughly 2 years old. Her diet consists mainly of dry cat food, with wet cat food every here and there. I feed her Whiskas dry food, or Kit-N-Kaboodle. The wet food is Pets Choice.

She currently has fleas, but no signs of ear mites. She has two bald spots on top of her head, right next to the ears. She has a small (very small) bald spot on her shoulder. None of these spots are red, crusty, etc. They are just bald.

I was thinking it might be a flea allergy, but she doesnt always lick other areas of her body. She does scratch by her ears once in awhile, but inside her ears--there are no signs of yellow crust or ear mites.

What could it be? Should I add more wet food, or perhaps a better brand? Is it stress? Could she need a treatment for itching from fleas?

Our cat has been leaving many, many black 'dots' around the house. These are very evident on white surfaces such as the window sill, but are obviously getting into the carpet too. When they are cleaned off the white surface with a damp cloth, they seem to 'bleed', leaving behind a small dark red mark.

Anyone have any idea what this could be? We have recently treated our cat for fleas.

The fleas are coming from under the building where cats used to live until they were captured and relocated. Employees on the end where the fleas are are getting bitten since they've come indoors. They're spraying outside but it doesn't help the folks inside the building. Is there anything natural that will deter them from biting the employees besides downing garlic?

I know Skittle [my 5month old kitten] is pregnant ferr sure now so is there anything else I need to do besdies: Make her a good comfortable place to have them [located in a silent room]
Be prepared to lock her in that room when its getting very close to birth time. have a rag and hand soap ready for when she has them in case she needs help cleaning them. And getting a box so that the kittens cant crawl all over the place when thay are born.

Sometimes when my cat smells something, she'll pause & look at me with her mouth just slightly open as if she's out of breath (but not panting). It's about the only time I really ever see her mouth open! She only holds this position for about 5 seconds, then goes back to normal...Why??

My cat has a limp, it doesn't look like it hurts it that bad, but when it walks it has a noticeable limp, and if it stands there it juts it's leg out. It has no trouble walking and if I touch it's leg it doesn't seem to hurt it. Should I seek vetrinarian help or do you think it will heal on it's own, because it doesn't seem very serious?

Right. I adopted my cat from a rescue centre about 6 weeks ago.
She'd been spayed 3 days before I picked her up.
But now she's starting to balloon in the middle and feels pregnant.
How long are cats pregnant for and could she have conceived prior to the spaying and be carrying?

If the answer to any of these questions is yes - does anyone want a kitten?

Thanks for your help.
Mx.

I clean the litter box at least once sometimes twice a day, and add new litter and mix. I make sure I use disinfectant wipes every time I clean the litter box as I wipe around the soiled areas. I try to completely empty and wash it as least once a month, sometimes twice. Is that normal or do they need to be washed every week?

She has a scratching post sitting RIGHT next to the bed, and yet she never uses it. She did when she was younger, so she obviously knows what it's for, but for some reason she refuses to use it, and goes for the bed instead!
I have tried putting double-sided tape on the bed in those areas and she just removes the tape.
I have also attempted spraying the bed with a citrus-smelling spray because I heard cats don't like it.

I have slight allergies to cats. i get runny nose and watery eyes. I love cats though and I've heard a lot about certain breeds of cats that are naturally hypo allergenic or at least cause less of an allergic reaction due to carrying less dander. Can anyone tell me which breeds of cats are best suited for people with slight allergies.

For some reason, even though they don't go outside, my cats have fleas. Frontline doesn't seem to be working. Are oral flea medications (like Program Oral Flea Medication for Cats with Lufenuron) safe? Are they effective?

They are about a week differance in age. My younger kitten's name is Emma Faith. (I call her Emmie)

I was looking for suggestion for a 1st name to go with "HOPE". Preferably ending in the "E or Y" sound.

Since I would like to get an kitten(age isn't decided yet,but what age would be the best) for my male, neutured indoor cat, would he torture the little kitten? Since the kitten would be so small and he is older?
Also, what should I do if they fight? Like, what is the best way to separate them?
Also, what would be the best age for the kittne to be?
