Call your vet and make an appointment for a checkup and get his/her advice then. Being this young and the first time, I hope you do plan to work with a vet to insure your cats safety. I wouldn't use soap on a kitten, just a dry wash rag and only if absolutely necessary. Remember, Mom is going to be licking her babies and you don't want her ingesting soap. Most mother cats are quite capable. Don't plan on locking your cat in a room. She'll choose where to have those kittens regardless of how perfect a nursery you think you've made for her. She doesn't need to be in a silent room, just not pestered during the event. And she may want nothing more than to be with you at that time.

soap is a bad idea. kittens are like babies something even very mild could irritate their skin. a warm wash cloth is fine to help wipe them. have a heating pad and some warm soft towels ready too b/c the mom is going to be busy having the babies and they need to always stay warm. take them and place them in a box with a heating pad wrapped in a clean towel while shes finishing giving birth then she can take over. and your going to need to change the bedding in her nesting box once or twice daily the kittens will poop it up. the mother usually eats the poop and pee for a week or so this is normal so just let her. but some may get on the bedding too so make sure to change it. you'll know when she starts going into labor b/c she wont eat or drink and she'll become restless maybe walking around and not wanting to stay still. she might even make some noises.

Don't use soap on newborns kittens, bad start! If the mother takes to the kittens she will clean them up just fine. Also do not handle newborn kittens for at least a week unless absolutely necessary - the mother will not approve of you putting your scent on them.

As someone said, have some proper kitten milk replacement formula on standby in case the kittens are rejected, or know where you can buy some in a hurry if you need to.

A checkup for mother and kits is advisable when they are about 2 weeks old.
