They would not fight, but (and this happened to me) the older, larger cat will s9it on the younger, smaller cat and urinate on it (I know, for they did it on my bed!)
here is a trick to make it work.
Make the kitten smell like the established cat BEFORE they meet. If your cat uses the littler tray, rub the kitten with some of the soiled litter, or rub it with a blanket from e cat's blanket or a cushion that the older cat sleeps on (which will be impregnated with its smell)
The older cat will then feel that the kitten is part of his/her property and will (if you are lucky) start to wash it

Well you should get a female, at first he might bat at it or hiss at it. Put the kitten in a seperate room and let them sniff each other through the door, than take the kitten out and watch as they interact, if he starts to hiss and bat, take the kitten away. I brought a kitten into my home and had two cats, they at first did not like her, now they love her. It just takes awhile. My cats were a year old when I brought this kitten in. If he is hurting the kitten, throw a blanket on them, that should stop them.....at least thats what I read.

I think 3 months or older would be a good age....not a little bitty kitten. It'll take time, but they'll get used to each other. We have three cats that we got at all different times.Their ages are all within a few months of each other. They are strictly indoor. Fight?Yes, they WILL fight. That's just what cats do. It's the way they interact with each other and determine the "pecking order". Don't physically separate them. But if they are getting vicious, the best thing to do is squirt them with water. Take a spray bottle and keep it nearby. When they really "get into it" just squirt. It won't take long for them to learn when you get the bottle out they'd better scatter.
When you get the new little guy home, carry him and show him where the litter box is, and carry him and show him the food bow. Then set him down and let him go. He'll probably find someplace to hide for awhile, but with patience, he will come out, particularly when he gets hungry. Your current cat will probably go crazy for awhile trying to figure out where that smell is coming from. One of our cats hid under our bed. I enticed him out by leaving little trails of food for him. Whatever they do, just be patient. They'll adjust.

Well all cats are not the same, but i did this with a little kitten, and my cat beat the hell out of the poor thing, i really can't say what your cat will do,because of him being a male, but i have a female that never had kitten of her own, so that could have been why she did that to the little one.....

Yes and no. When we got my kitten, my two older cats (one was 1, one was 13) didn't touch him harmfully at all. But I do know that if the cats that you put the kitten by aren't fixed, they can be mean and hurt the kitten.

they usually don't hurt each other. the older cat does realize the age of the kitten. there will be alot of hissing and spitting and a few swats exchanged but they will soon get used to each other. i introduces a kitten to my 7 year old a year ago and now i can't seperate them

depends on your cats personality. some cats just dont get along with other cats AT ALL. my cat wants nothing to do with other cats so even if i could or wanted to get her some companion she will go crazy. and male cats are usually territorial....you might want to get an adult female that also gets along with other cats. maybe around your cats age or somewhat younger...not a kitten though...kittens have too much energy for an old cat. if they do fight they will usualy give each other very obvious signs that they disprove or one another...hissing, growling, long and noisy meowing...if they start getting heated just pick one up. if its too late and theyre going at it spray water at them like crazy! make them snap out of it.

I wouldn't suggest that but if the cat is very energetic then there might be a possibility that the cat will torture the little cat.Well you could try it out if it works it works but if it doesn't...............well try getting them used to eachother a little. One day put them together for a couple of minutes.then lock them in seperate rooms.Next day put them together like for 10min...and so on until they get used to eachother. At least it's a try.

They can be fine, you just need to supervise them for a while let them get to know each other... they might try to play or establish boundaries... make sure they aren't really hurting each other... and when your aren't around you might want to keep them separated at first.
Try to google "how to introduce a new cat" or something like
that. "Cat introduction" maybe
