It is best to wait until they are at least 8 weeks old. 10-12 weeks is even better.

Not before 8 weeks, preferably 12 weeks after the kittens have had their full course of vaccinations. Potential owners will be impressed by this, it's expected.

If you do sell the kittens (you should be giving them away to good homes) I hope you spend the money on getting the cat spayed.

I volunteer with an animal rescue group. PLEASE take my good advice. Kittens should to be at least six weeks & preferably older before leaving their mothers. When weaning the kittens, DO NOT give milk or too much canned food as it causes diarrhea. Feed frequent small meals of dry kitten food moistened with water, maybe flavored with a bit of canned food. Make fresh water available always. Be aware that may find the buying market isn't as good as you think. I have frequently stood in a pet store all day showing cages full of beautiful, playful, loving kittens & cats of every type & description that were already vaccinated, dewormed & spayed or neutered & had no one adopt them. Any rescue group will tell you the same thing. Network, ask friends, run ads. Always charge a fee, first because some people misrepresent themselves as good pet owners but will sell animals for research, but also because if they don't pay, they may not value the pet. Get their name, address & phone number & veterinarian's phone &ALWAYS call the vet for a reference. Look for owners that spayed & neutered & provided vaccines & other on-going care such as flea preventatives on a regular basis. If potential adopters have children, watch how the kids handle the pets - kittens are fragile & are not toys. Next, get mama spayed and don't take too long to do it.The gestation period for cats is only about 60 days, so you'll have more kittens on the way soon if you don't. If you don't have much money, call the Humane Society & SPCA for low-cost spay neuter clinics in your area. Clinics in my area charge about $50 for a spay & shots & thats a very good deal. Don't blame mama cat for having kittens, she didn't get "knocked up" - YOU failed in your responsibilty as a pet owner to get her spayed. I'm not coming down on you. People often put things off or just don't know. I didn't know better at one time, but now I do, I'm telling you, so now you know, too! (Pass on the knowledge!)Please, be a responsibile pet owner. If possible, deworm & give 1st vaccines to the kittens. Also, your pets wil be much safer if kept inside only. Good Luck! And remember God has placed their lives are in your hands - is it a test? are you up to it? JUST DO IT!

Unless the cat is pure breed I highly doubt anyone will pay for them. You should wait until around 8 weeks (usually between 6 and 8 weeks is fine), but don't wait to long, you usually should wait until they are totally off of their mothers milk and on kitten food or wet kitten food (their food usually needs to be mashed up at first).

They don't really need to bond with their mother anymore than what they have because well they'll never see her again. Bonding occurs at birth anyways.

i used to wait until 9 weeks as they are due their first set of jabs. i would also vet the homes well before letting them go. most new owners will be happy to let you do that so you know that the kittens go to a good home. has she had the kittens yet because before they can be rehomed get them vet checked to make sure they are healthy. you can email me if you need help. by the way be aware if you have to hand rear them is bloody hard work my queen cannot produce enough milk and the vet needs her milk to dry up i am up every two hours.

The soonest you can find homes for your kittens would be 8 weeks. I prefer to keep them until 10 weeks because they need the bonding experience with their mother and to make sure they are completely weaned.

When kittens have been eating dry food for 1 month they can be taken from their mother. Soooo usually around 5 months old. They will have psychological damage if taken away too early.
